Since coming to office three years ago the Biden administration has been responsible for adding 25 percent to America's national debt, which now stands at 34 trillion.

Over three trillion of that Biden's administration can't account for....think of that what you will.

I have no doubt that landlords in general aren’t regarded with much affection. Why would they be? I can only control what I am responsible for and have no apologies to make to anyone over the way I look after my tenants. Look after them and they tend to look after you. One called me today to explain why their rent was going to be late, due to a new payroll system.

The role of the marketeer is widely misunderstood, as frequently witnessed in these pages. Many seem to think they are little more than Del Boy in a suit, whilst the truth is that ensuring your company remains firmly market focused results in innovation that serves us all.

As someone who traditionally has voted conservative I don’t criticise traditional Tory values. What I criticise is the right of the party and the way it allowed the Brexit debacle to occur. It now needs to disappear and for the right to join up with whatever party Farage tells them to join. The centre right traditional Tories need to regroup, seek backing and relaunch under a fresh new name with re-entry into the EU a primary manifesto pledge.

Then we will really see what kind of policies the majority support. It cannot be for the upcoming GE, that’s a foregone conclusion but could be in time for the next when, after 5 years of Labour we will be ready.

The coming battle could well be over who inherits the real estate and resources.

Most would listen and try to help so that’s not a stripe on your arm.
The irony in being a landlord atm is it’s write your own number in the box. Rightly or wrongly it’s a free choice system. When the uk goes full on left that may well change to the landlords detriment so keep waving the flag.

Similar to marketing.

So criticism of a conservative voice....and conservativism has been the most common voted for government in Britain for centuries...needs to come with the rebuttal that whatever number of people agree with Cryrst is certainly more likely to be larger than would support many of the opinions put out by himself.

And as it’s a USA thread, the math don’t lie

I am not looking for “stripes on the arm”. I am merely pointing out that any individual can only be responsible for their own actions. I know of other landlords who behave badly towards their tenants, one of whom I am currently helping to get a problem sorted. Something I can do because I am aware of the legal responsibilities.

I also am aware of rent profiteering but I value stability and certainty so if I get reliable tenants try to keep them by not raising rents. Only if they move on does a rent get moved to the current market level.

Who:knows what will happen when we have a Labour government but with no prospect of demand decreasing I doubt there will be anything that impacts me too much.

I think that whilst that’s what the poster wants you to think it’s really very unlikely that any money has actually gone missing. As the total debt includes around $7 trillion the government owes itself its much more likely to be an accounting misrepresentation or misunderstanding by someone looking at the figures than anything real.

That said the level of debt is unsustainable in the longer term. It might be forgivable in the short term to get the country moving after the pandemic and 4 years of Trump not knowing how to respond to it, but it has to be reigned in.

The question is how can that happen in a country so politically divided? Who has the political capital to prescribe the economic medicine to cure this disease before it becomes terminal?

If the USA is forced into recession by the need to control debt what impact would it have on us, and the rest of the world? That could happen if it defaulted, and that could yet happen early next year. Who knows who will be taking the decisions by then!

Once again we see the demonisation of Trump in office and when it comes to Biden it's suddenly an innocent error or mistake.

You know what....When it comes to trillions of dollars whether it's incompetence or theft or a bit of both it can't be defended.

But here you still how certain voices wish to excuse this.

Any civilisation worthy of the Anglo/Saxon tradition would root out this corruption and not make excuses for it. Real...not fake virtue or principle would demand it. This is not how civilisation rises it's how it falls.

People can come to their own conclusions as to why certain voices support certain outcomes and as to whether that's good for your children's future.

Personally I don't defend sh1t sandwiches. Whoever loses money like that needs to be held to account for it. Whoever lumps levels of debt onto the country like that needs to be held to account for it. Whether it's Trump or Biden these politicians can't be allowed to crap on their own doorstep and take away unborn generations's future prosperity.

But the most selfish and fecked up will always defend it.

Whatever happened to it this is an astonishing amount of money. This figure alone would give them the 8th highest GDP in the world.

I would point out that the link to 'third worldism' given by the usual suspect is an extremely biased interpretation that ignores all of the practical actions those lofty words entail.

I would agree with the aspect of more wealthy countries helping....in a practical sense...poorer nations. Indeed, this country and European based nations have been doing this very thing for..in some cases centuries....often more than wealthy non European states.

What it shouldn't mean is giving away birth and citizenship rights to foreigners. Giving your future to immigrants...who frequently have dual or even no loyalty compared to natives...a recipe for penury.

The link to Wikipedia giving the glowing interpretation on third worldism has to be seen within the context that its co-founder has heavily criticized today's Wikipedia (something I used to donate to) for giving politically progressive slants on topics rather than objective ones....which was the original intent.

Third worldism for first world countries means high third world immigration into previously settled areas...mostly into Europe.....as many have seen with their own eyes.....It means your living spaces and regional culture being permanently changed. It also keeps wages down for the working classes and increases housing costs dramatically....Good for landlords but bad for the renting population...which is obviously disproportionally younger people.

It lowers social cohesion and hence trust levels levels within society. This isn't new information, it's been known about for many decades and before that centuries if you know which books to read.

In most cases it means higher crime and lawlessness and a poorer area as the tax base moves out...which then sees the rise of gangs and drugs.

Third worldism is the destruction of what existed before.

It means reducing your standard of living by equalizing or equity. All because a minority of people want to destroy the cohesive nation state.

The phrase, 'diversity is a strength' being just as big a lie in social matters as rational reason would conclude.

Which is why it cannot be true.

I have no idea where this assertion comes from because I cannot find it. The closest is a similar assertion from 2001 which has been ridiculed over the years.

It seems nothing was actually missing, but was badly accounted for, primarily by the Pentagon who kept failing audits. You can only speculate why that might be but what this shows is that if there is an issue it dates back a long time and has nothing to do specifically with the Biden presidency.

The claim came from a video I watched. I'll check it out later as I won't be on till later. If it proves to be inaccurate I will apologise.
