For the sake of balance, a Cornwall based poster on here not so long ago claimed he could identify the origin of people who were imported to work in the NHS by their skin colour.
Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance. |

God Emperor Trump Meme magic considering what has been going on with Warhammer recently [Link] Even those of clear thought that hate him have to admit we'll never have anyone as memeable as Trump again. Edit: just seen this Trump float was like 5 years ago, how have I just seen this/scrubbed it from my memory? Edited by Ouzo Dan (30 Apr 2024 7.18am)

The vision they presented of Trump (that's he's some kind of authoritarian fascist about to create WW3) and what the reality was....Trump has essentially always been a 90s Democrat.....it's just insane. Clear proof of just how far the Democrats moved to the left....which was what their donors wanted. In reality the Democrats are all that they accuse Trump of being. They have zero principles and will do just about anything. They are literally the party of wars and economic decline. Trump didn't actually go after the deep state in his presidency....despite what he said before he took office. And his reward has been them spending four years trying to destroy him. When he likely takes over this winter I can't see him being so kind....and to be frank they will deserve what's coming. Edited by Stirlingsays (30 Apr 2024 9.36am)

So Trump, in his current trial has now been threatened with jail time if he goes on breaking the gag order that he is under. As the fines he was given were never going to be enough to stop him, as the maximum would be regarded by him as a cheap investment for the publicity, will the prospect of time in jail? Would he welcome the image it would create, the publicity that would mean he remains the centre of attention and the opportunity to present himself as a martyr whilst others in his campaign do the talking for him? Or would he be concerned about becoming not only the first ex President to be charged with a criminal offence but the first to be jailed? The drip, drip, drip impact of this slow burning case, his demeanour in Court and boringly repetitive statements outside, must gradually have an effect on the perceptions of the vital swing voters. Biden in contrast seems to very slowly be inching the other way, with the relative success of the US economy beginning to dawn in the minds of the people. Not yet reflected in the poling numbers but there is a sense that this is the slack tide time, the pause before it flows the other way. So will Trump opt for jail time? It will be his choice and interesting to see.

If people are to be jailed for paying women to not tell their wives, then almost every rich and powerful man in the USA better put on an orange jump suit. Including every other ex president. The case is not even verging on the ridiculous - it is absurd.

I, and many others believe all the cases have merit and would probably result in convictions if they get heard. Which given Trump’s shenanigans and past record seems increasingly unlikely. I think there is a lot more which could be thrown at him, and possibly will be. This case has nothing to do with not telling his wife. That’s Trump spin. It’s about falsifying records to hide the truth during an election campaign. A truth that was going to hurt him. In the current case the threat of jail doesn’t arise from the case itself. The worst he can expect is a heavy fine. Almost certainly less than his costs, meaning it would have been cheaper to have pleaded guilty. That though would have meant he would not have gained the publicity and opportunity to present himself as a victim. The jail threat comes from him repeatedly ignoring the gag order which bans him from making comments on court staff, jurors and others involved in the case. He has been fined $1000 each for 9 transgressions already, which is the maximum but peanuts for him relative to the publicity, and now warned any more risks jail. I think he wants that. Let’s see.

It is no one with any sense and not suffering from TDS in it's final stages. TDS is not common outside the USA but when it manifests abroad it is bordering on insanity

Who to believe? Find your Internet conspiracy theorist with views that nicely fit your narrative? Or the media - Fox News? CNN? NY Times? Washington Post? The National Enquirer? The BBC? The Times? Guardian? Mail? All on here are getting their info from one of these and nobody on here will attempt to verify the voracity of that info, me included. It's too difficult and time consuming. So you have to trust one/some of them. Of the above I know who I'd choose. On this thread many minds are made up and some posters write with a degree of certainty that's quite frankly astounding. Not something that indicates wisdom.

Edited by Eaglehamster (01 May 2024 4.03pm) I think that people can make their mind up as to whether they genuinely believe that what Trump did is a chargeable criminal offence which deserves jail time without having to rely on the media. I fully believe he paid Stormy Daniels and that makes me assume he probably rode her. To make that into some criminal trial seems absurd when you see what criminals get away with every minute of the day. Imagine wasting all this judicial and legal apparatus on this when actual criminals could be dealt with instead. And then you pretty much think this is completely politically motivated when you consider it. It doesn't really take any kind of genius to read between the lines.

Just as the GOP finds mud to sling at Biden or indirectly at him via his son. However the fact is he is accused of crimes in the financial cover-up following the pay-off. Are you suggesting that crimes that are so minor are simply ignored?

Do you seriously believe that is what Trump is charged with? If so it just proves how effective Trump’s disinformation propaganda is. There are no legal issues involved in having sex with a p*** star. They are both adults and so long as it was consensual, no problem: The issue was how female voters would respond so when the story was marketed they decided to buy it and bury it , hiding the evidence by false accounting. That is regarded as illegal interference in an election. They thought if the story got out he would lose. That’s the charge: Not being disloyal to a wife or having extra marital sex. Election interference is serious. Trump has now done it several times.
