I now live in Lewisham. Used to live in Cambridge and did so when I joined HOL hence the name. If you're from Stirling I have no idea what it's like so can't comment. Lewisham however I like and feel has benefited from immigration and from inward immigration into London in general, like the majority of places where immigrants have settled in the UK in numbers. The places most tolerant of immigration are those most directly impacted by it. Public accounts also show that immigration has been a significant net benefit to the economy, not to mention public services. The issues of under-funding and overcrowding, and unemployment and national policy issues created and exacerbated by consecutive governments' failure to invest in education, services and infrastructure and made significantly worse by poorly handled monetary policy (QE) and fiscal policy (austerity). My point about Nuttall was his use of casual lies in public about himself. My comment was only meant to reflect on him and his party. They used fear and lies about immigration to win votes. See insert. Don't think the approval rating is because they ask more foreign people because more live there. Common sense please and of course they do better ecomically local businesses exploit the people who do not understand minimum wage standards and abuse their rights as workers regularly also landlords charging fortunes for one room in a house with 10 people in it. The economy only does better there because businesses are cutting major corners. Don't deny that this happens either because I work in these houses and local MP'S turn a blind eye because it boosts the local economy and makes it look progressive. You could argue that every town should have a Cinema because people want to watch movies. Access to books should be a foundation of any civilised society IMHO.

If you think otherwise, you'll be deluding yourself. That's the beginning and end of the argument for me. That is a lot less people than it used to be. I suppose your attitude highlights the problem with Labour. You think that everyone is entitled to everything regardless of if they contribute to society or if the budget can afford it. That is a load of old cobblers. Libraries are part of a civilised society they don't cost much not a left-right argument at all probably used by more tory ladies than anyone else. Will be interesting to see if Mrs May comes to see the ceremony of burning the books like her predecessor and mentor Adolf Hitler did. Whoooooooossshhh!!!!!

Libraries shouldn't be done away with but they should evolve and to be fair they are slowly evolving as cost allows. I see a future for them where headsets present books using interactive content. It's probably apart of the coming headset revolution.

Which is why libraries are important. No. That is why adapting to the modern world is important. Old people are savvy in other areas. That's why most don't vote Labour.
