This is the last PM exchange I had with staffie, the day before the WBA game: FH: Hi staffie, I won't be in the chatroom tomorrow, as I've actually managed to get a ticket for the game. staffie: No worries mate - hope you have a bloody good time and game... I will be watching online.. so if you do decide to run on naked and grab one of the crystals we will all get a front row seat... Enjoy! best Lets hope for a win and by the time you get home I will have posted the whole game for download.
I disengage, I turn the page. |

Never met the man, but always looked out for his links and feel a great loss. I feel guilty I've enjoyed so much from him and all done for the love of palace. Could their be a brick near the centenary wall he could have his holl name placed?

Great idea - does anyone know who deals with stadium issues at Selhurst?
Supporting Crystal Palace since 19.45 on 29th August 1972 (approximately)! |

A HOL legend. RIP. My non-Palace-supporting friend said in passing that he would have to log on to HOL to stream a game at the weekend. Obviously I had to let him know the great staffie had passed and my friend was genuinely upset at his passing, despite, like me, having never met the man. I'd happily contribute to any fund raising in respect of a permanent reminder of what a great chap he was. The brick idea sounds brilliant. I have a brick myself which means a lot to me (purchased by my late granddad) and it's a great reminder of happy memories each time I walk past.

Rarely come on the board anymore, and I feel genuinely saddened to have found out that staffie has passed away. It is an unusual feeling to be so cut up about the death of a man I never met, did not know, and almost never spoke to. I live in Mexico, and I am immensely grateful for his links which allowed me to follow Crystal Palace et al. from so far away! Moreover, it allowed me to share something on a weekly basis with people such as my dad who still live in England and regularly attend games. It is a difficult thing to describe to a Mexican girlfriend how I can be feeling so deeply the loss of someone who you only "knew" or even encountered from the other end of a keyboard. Ironically I read the news after walking my dog and feeding a stray street dog. Almost fitting really. What a loss! Magnificent suggestion regarding the HOL sponsored brick for staffie.

I just logged on for the first time in a long time to find this. It's really sad news. I hope he rests in peace and sincere condolences to those who knew him personally.
WORRIED that your teeth will be stained after a heavy night drinking red wine? Fear not; drink a bottle of white wine before going to bed, to remove the stains. |
