What is written in a constitution and what actually happens are two different things. The US constitution says nobody will be held imprisoned without due process yet they are still holding people who have had nothing proved against them for 11 years. I have no doubt that if Israel ceased their occupation of Palestine, whatever the constitution says, in practice there would be peace between them. Israel's constitution says it is a Jewish state and therefore discriminates against every other ethnicity.That is a racist constitution but over time it could be changed to a non discriminatory one if there was peace in the same way that Hamas's constitution could be changed if their people were not being murdered in great numbers every couple of years by Israel. Let's face it British people thought years ago that we had the right to go round the world grabbing other people's land but over time we changed.
