Genghis Khan is at it again laying waste to London. The whole of London is moving to tier 2 because Khan told the government it was the only thing he would agree to. One quick look at the virus map and it is clear that south of the river we are fine with a couple of exceptions. Why on earth is Khan not asking for a more targeted solution.

Covid 19 Hits The Old Hardest, But The Healthy Longest Interesting article from Bloomberg on the little known effects (yet) of "long Covid". Personally, I'm not for National Lockdowns at all, they are so damaging, but articles like this make me want to avoid finding out myself what the effects are both short term and long term, which is why, for once, I'll try and do what I'm told. Yep, very much same here. I've had mates and colleagues around my age (early 30s)and otherwise fit and healthy who had it in March and are still suffering from side effects 6 months later. Even those fully recovered have said it was the worst experience of their lives. I know it's extremely unlikely to kill me, but at the same time I'd rather not risk having it if I can take sensible precautions to avoid it. If that means wearing a mask and not going to the pub/out for dinner a little less for a year of my life then so be it.

Political point scoring, as he has since day 1

My view fwiw is that we should carry on as near to normal as possible, people know the risks and should take precautions but we cannot go on like this forever ( no evidence that a vaccine would work, as virus could be mutating). EasyJet have asked the Govt for more money, despite laying off a high percentage of staff. GAL have recently taken out a £300m loan ( not sure who from) and have laid off over 50% of security staff.

All this darned jargon like "Circuit break", "Sunset clause" etc etc. In the meantime restrictions will lead to even more non-covid deaths. It has been revealed that hundreds of Under-65s have been killed by strokes and heart attacks because of the lockdown. Not forgetting the knock-on effects on mental health, businesses, unemployment, the economy etc etc. In the final analysis, Britain is being sacrificed on the altar of fighting Covid. Covid had me out of action for about a month from mid March and was a good couple of months after that before I started to feel completely back to normal. Whilst I haven't had any of the nastier sounding long Covid symptoms, I still don't have my sense of smell back properly, some days it's there some days it isn't! Wouldn't recommend it, if you can avoid it then do!!!
