I think what irks me about the TDS mob is their assumption that those of us who point out when he is treated unfairly are actually his supporters and apologists, I am not.

Trump does plenty of things I disagree with and some of them maybe criminal, that doesn't mean that I can't spot when bad things are done to him. The behaviour of the Democrats and their supporters especially those in power is disgraceful and a witch hunt.

Oddly the American left love to bring up the McCarthy era and the injustices that actors and others suffered by guilt by association and yet that is exactly what they are doing with Trump today.

In a perfect world Trump would not exist as a politician, in a less perfect world the Democrats would fight him on policies. As it is Trump will win in November for the following reasons:

1. Biden is too selfish to stand down and let a better candidate take him on.
2. Trump is playing the victim for all it's worth and he's basically right, enough of the public will sympathise with him.
3. The Democrats have made no attempt to be "the better man" so their protestations that Trump is dividing the country are hollow because they are doing the same. Where is Jed Bartlett when you need him.

I still don't like Trump but if the Republicans were doing the same to Biden it would be wrong.

The fallout from this will divide the country for many years, cross party co-operation is dead as both sides are only interested in settling scores. It will be a political bloodbath when Trump gets in as he and the GOP will be out for revenge.

A plague on both your houses.

The idea that watching any country tear itself apart could be fun is appalling. When it is the one that has been your closest ally it is psychotic.

The idea that the legal problems that Trump faces are all created by his opponents is such a transparent nonsense that only a brief reflection can see. He could not be prosecuted if he hadn’t done anything. I think the Democrats would love that these cases weren’t happening, rather than engineering them, because they give him so much publicity and allow him to pose as a victim thus deflecting from his actual record.

To hear it described as a “witch-hunt” in these pages confirms just how successful Trump has been in poisoning the minds of the gullible. That they exist here too is though rather shameful.

There would doubtless be some egging him on to creating even greater political divisions should he win. Hopefully the constitution and the law will restrain him, or there would be chaos.

If Trump was merely an opponent there wouldn’t be a problem. Opponents are respected. They are honourable, abide by the rules, and the law, and accept defeat. Trump isn’t an opponent. He doesn’t view the rules as applicable to him and thinks he is above the law. He is a megalomaniac who frequently gives indications that he thinks he ought to have more power than is vested in a President.

I have said this kind of thing for years. It was as true then, as it is now. Dismissing them just because he has managed to escape, for now, justice over his involvement in the support provided by Russia in 2016, is to imitate an ostrich.

Yes, the Biden administration decided to borrow big to kick start the US economy after the double whammy of the pandemic and Trump. Yes, the level of debt is probably unsustainable and must be brought back under control. I bet though they would be very happy to see it fall to just 2 billion. Debt cannot though be viewed in isolation. The level of growth and interest rates must also be considered. That’s why experts are employed to manage it and not know it alls on football web sites.

I am genuinely interested to know what you think the Democrats are doing?

It’s the FBI and the Justice Dept who are pursuing the retained documents case. Not the Democrats.

It’s the State of NY who are pursuing the over valued properties scam. Not the Democrats.

Individuals are pursuing damages claims for poor behaviour. Not the Democrats.

It’s the State of Georgia who are pursuing the election interference case. Not the Democrats.

Do you seriously think there is any kind of coordination going on? Or is it more likely that this is simply a perception because Republican States and individual Republicans have not, and would not, seek justice themselves where similar situations exist. As well they might. If there is political interference it comes from Republicans giving Trump free passes. As they did when he was impeached.

It’s Trump and his inner circle who are playing with people’s minds.

I know I shouldn't respond but..

All of those institutions you have just mentioned are controlled by the Democrats.

That though is just the perception that Trump wants you to believe. It isn't true at all.

Judges might be appointed by Democrats, as they are by Republicans, but they remain Judges whose master is the law. From all I am seeing they are actually leaning over backwards to be more than fair and reasonable.

The FBI and The Justice Department owe their loyalty to the USA, the Constitution and the law. Not to any party or the current President. There is a separation of power.

The individuals might be Democrats, I have no idea, but their motivation is very clearly to expose Trump's behaviour and probably to make money from it personally.

The States involved might be Blue States but they are bound to be. Red States wouldn't indict Trump. It would upset their own voters. The Democrats at a national level aren't involved. These are local decisions taken by local law enforcement.

So no Democratic "control". Inevitable political involvement given the way the system there operates but that's not the same thing.

Like most posters on here I’m not committed to Trump himself but find the Lefts continuous and monotonous insinuation that all republican voters are stupid, racist and a danger to democracy as insulting and condescending. I am not alone!!

If someone tells you to stop supporting Palace because they are a small, trophy less south London rabble… what do you do, go and support Man U?

The last 3+ years in the US have been sad and that’s because of politician and media led TDS syndrome and Biden’s total incompetence!!

I’ll leave the FBI and DoJ comments for another time!!

You deserve the idiotic response for not having the will power NOT to respond this TDS nonsense.

I have stopped responding directly to the TDS mob ( of 1 ) and feel much better for it

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

Nobody sensible thinks all Republican voters are as you describe them and certainly not me. There is though a huge difference between all Republican voters and those that comprise Trump’s base. Many of the latter though fit the description quite well. Other Republicans are just loyal to whoever their party stands whilst others, who may vote Republican this time, have a perception that the mess they think their country is in is the fault of Biden and are voting against him this time, rather than for Trump having been deceived by the constant cries of “witch-hunt”. It seems to me you fit the latter category.

I totally reject the idea that I, or anyone else for that matter, suffers from some kind of deranged view of Trump. You cannot become deranged because of such a man. You can only become angry and determined..

If people were protesting about say, Reagan, or either of the Bushes, in this way then there would some justification for the allegation. They didn’t though because there was no reason to. Those men did not behave like Trump. They weren’t narcissistic crooks with only self interest as their motivation. They might have been political opponents but they were respected. Not so Trump. Every respectable man and woman, Democrat or Republican, who cares about their country, needs to oppose him and I take my hat off to those Republicans who have had the guts to do so.
