But you voted for remain and continued mass immigration to the UK?

Building all those new houses, hospitals, schools, roads, etc to cater for this influx of people and their offspring .... won't that affect climate change, the environment and wildlife then?

I voted remain partly because I had an inkling that the UK government would say f*** climate change. f*** the environment and f*** wildlife.

Yes because our contribution to all of those is so massive.

Well to an extent, we may well be a part of that, given that manufacturing for products for the UK market largely occurs abroad.

But I'm also fairly certain that its futile to try to save humanity from itself. Mankind seems to be on a determined path to create its own nightmare cull.

Indeed. There is a shocking sense of inevitability about it.

We are the proverbial culture in the Petrie dish using up its broth. We will die in our own s*** if we don't act decisively.
That said, the big players need to cut pollution and it's use of world resources if we have any chance. Britain is a speck.
Population is the biggest factor, locally and globally.

But by voting remain you and your fellow voters said fcuk climate change. Fcuk the environment and fcuk wildlife yourselves.

The multitude of new houses and attendant infrastructure necessary to cater for the additional millions of immigrants and their offspring will rely upon the concreting over of green grass, removal of trees and shrubbery and destruction of the UK wildlife habitat pretty much.

You need to rethink your priorities old chap.

Up till now you've been supporting remain from the economic angle.

If you truly care about climate change and wildlife you wouldn't want to see the UK turned into a concrete jungle would you?

(please don't reconstitute the article that says only 5% of the UK is built on or whatever silly % it actually was... I will only counter it again with details of land where it is impossible to build)

I believe it is 11% of all land is considered to be built upon, or 3% if you strip out gardens and parks within those areas.

But there is no question that environmental concerns were a legitimate reason to consider voting Remain. As Hrolf suggested the UK contribution to climate change is probably limited, but the EU as a combined bloc influenced by green policies could have had more impact (and indeed had greater negotiating impact in trying to encourage other territories to follow suit).

Plus you are assuming that if that "uncontrolled immigration" didn't come here then those people would simply not exist if you think not letting them into the UK stops environment damage? They still exist. They still do 'environmental damage' whichever country they live in.

Not necessarily.

If they stay where they are we have savings on air pollution (mostly around Heathrow) and savings on diesel fuel polluting the sea/air if they travel by boat.

By not coming here we are not forced to build homes and the infrastructure that supports them whereas their own countries already support their existence.

Seems to me we are creating pollution and ruining the wildlife habitat of the UK by encouraging mass immigration?
