What was left was either thick gammons from the right, or even less nice but not quite as thick from the centre who disingenuously tied themselves to the Brexit star with no true conviction. I suspect it was also partly due to the fact that the Treasury sat the new cabinet down on day one and explained to them in monosyllables that if they actually apply Brexit we will be a developing nation within a decade. So, they have tried to muddle through with such low competence that they make Labour look like prudent stewards of the public purse. That is the first time that has happened in my lifetime and probably since the age of Keir Hardie. That is one impressive achievement.

I don't agree with anything you have said in this post apart from the government being incompetent - all governments are.

And I don't agree that all governments are incompetent. That is the stuff of right wing web sites, casual pub chat, or lefty student debate. There is a spectrum of competence. A government is either more to one side or more to the other. Shades of grey.

We are overgoverned and overtaxed, a huge percentage of the taxes we pay are squandered, much of government organisation is inefficient and incompetent. We should abolish all regional assemblies, the absurd police commissioners, metropolitan mayors and the House of Lords.

There can be scope for improving every government, but that just means you want to slide it along the scale in your preferred direction. It does not make it 100% bad. Correct me if I'm wrong, but you are not an anarchist.

People should wear proper shoes, especially Prime Ministers when being interviewed, along with a suit and tie.

There is simply NO other explanation left now. There are people whose entire job is to make sure a PM looks the part for these interviews. Hours spent discussing what colour shirt. None of this happens by chance.

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance. |
