I’d love to get a manager in who’d turn us into playing like Leeds or those bellends on the south coast with the necessity of goals included. But we can’t afford to so we’ll have to settle for the roll your sleeves up type passion instead. I think Palace fans might find Dyche football is not that far off what Palace fans see as the Palace way or however you term it. If we can’t have finesse and cultured play then we’ll settle for passion and pride rather than some of the pathetic back turning to shots by from opposition and the regular soft defending at corners. Or the acceptance that we won’t score a point or 3 today so we’ll keep it a tight loss by one goal and wait for 1-2 weeks time when we might score first and hang on. I’ll say it again. Burnley passed round us over and over not so long ago at Selhurst so this idea that Dyche can’t manage a team to play football is the usual lazy media and fan rubbish. It is all about a certain poster having an agenda against another poster. I am Trolley, legend of the BBS ? I have no idea if this person still posts on that site as I don't view it any more. From memory he was some years older than me and I am 70 next year. I have answered all the 'Charges' and will make no further comment as any further accusation will not be deserving of the publicity. My silence should not be construed as an acceptance of the charges laid at my door.Thank you. In the interests of HOL, the debate should return to the subject of the thread and not be diverted by those

If we had stability heading into the summer, with a youngish squad, heading right direct, with some cash to spend, I would gamble. As it stands we have an aged squad, injuries, players unsettled and an apparent limited budget. We need to play it safe and rebuild over 2 seasons. Dyche is the man. Unless, we have a complete overhaul this summer and hit the ground running... I cam't see that tho.

Edited by Rudi Hedman (24 May 2021 12.45am) It's lazier to suggest Dyche will get us playing simply on the basis of what he did in 90 minutes against the oldest team in the league. Burnley play the worst football in the Premier League by a country mile, it's basically rugby at times. I accept that Dyche will probably keep us up for a couple more years and perhaps that's the route we need to take. But then it really, really begs the question as to why we're getting rid of Roy. "I'll say it again", in our first season, when we had Cabaye & Loftus-Cheek in midfield and a younger squad, we played some excellent stuff under Roy.

The new manager needs to be announced now and given time to assemble a squad. Anything else would be folly.

I await the unveiling of Dougie early next week as the continuity candidate who knows the club inside out. I have to say, regardless of anything (how well he may do etc), if Freedman gets anywhere near our first team it’ll be the first time in 47 years that I’d have a massive flounce from the club. It’ll be Sutton Utd for me given their fantastic rise to the EFL for the first time in their 120 year history.

There is a part of me that is getting really worried we will try to do this on the cheap and cock itup. We look to be a bit cash strapped - no new stand, recent transfer windows where we relied on loans or aging free transfers, rhs sale of AWB (which I still thing was to balance the books) and the fact that we had to get some of that money advanced early and at cost via a loan. We have let a stupid number of contracts expire at th We sign players in turn who never even play for us. I am not convinced on that evidence we have the money to rebuild a Premier league squad so who would want the job? I have seen an early copy of the Amazon programme (admittedly not the final cut.) Dougie is quite vocal about his mistakes in both leaving and how it happened. Lots of talk of unfinished business. I could see SP simply swapping Roy and Dougie over with Derry as coach and thinking what a clever solution based and cost effective chap he is. I fear if he do that we will continue shopping in the bargain basement and then the struggle continues. As we are and in the position we are in I just can't see anyone wanting such a huge rebuilding job

We have a DOF that shouldn't really be anywhere near the club who gets players in that the manager won't play (not sure who's to blame there though really). We don't have a pot to piss in, the ground hasn't improved really since promotion a part from a new pitch and a bit of cladding. Parish will fvck about all close season procrastinating on who to get in but depends who's interested really as we can't be very a attractive proposition at the moment. Definitely feels like the recipe for relegation to me.
