"The reality is they might make in League One League Two, league five, the National Conference because that's a good league now."

Excellent motivation for them. Maidstone Utd here we come.

Well they can prove him wrong !

The current set up doesn’t work . These players should either have made it at Palace or been moved on. At the moment they are stuck in limbo.

As RS said, they need to be playing competitive football not the meaningless U23 games.

Cahill, Camarsa and McCarthy were signed in the summer, do you think they play for nothing, any wages saved on players released has been used to pay them.
Did you not realise we had signed them in the summer? Your post indicates you didn’t.

Wages yes but you are seriously nit picking to suit your non existent argument. HOW MUCH MONEY DID WE SPEND????
Were any players signed either both highly rated AND in their prime????
Hmm, thought not.

If we were in the market for “ highly rated players in their prime “ then even the AWB money wouldn’t have gone very far.

It’s become an annual event now - spend as little as possible and hope that ( the much maligned ) Manager will do enough to keep the squad in the PL.

Steve Parish talks about 3 year spending cycles but we will have to wait to see how that pans out. In the meantime money has been invested in the Academy which is just that - an investment. That may or may not prove worthwhile, again time will tell

I'm sorry but do not see any of these players solving our striker problem!

I haven't heard about the 3 year spending cycle before. Sorry to play dumb - but what does this mean exactly?

Very laudable - I just wish it could be done in a more exciting manner. We've only scored once in the first 15 minutes in our last 45 PL games, and not done so at home since 14 April 2018 - 25 games ago.

Position in the table, ok . Form in 2019, highly commendable. Good to watch.... er, no.

It’s a shame that the way Roy has found to get the best out of these players is to play the style of football we are currently seeing. It’s pretty turgid stuff but effective.

We must spend Zaha money if he goes in Jan on a top striker and a replacement winger.
