It'more a question of who hasn't been dropped for following the script.

Lewington: He is not really strict and he doesn't let issues linger. He doesn't scream and shout, he just says: 'This is what we are doing and if anyone doesn't do it, we will get someone else.'
If they are not doing the things they are told to do, they are not for us. You can still play badly as long as you are trying to do the right thing - but if you want to do it your way, go somewhere else.

Correcto! We have a squad that has above par quality players but below par results. The sum total of the club is less than the individual sum of the plyaers. That points to an issue with management. If not addressed we will lose our choice players as players want to play for higher winning ideals. if not they move on or ask to be paid what other players of their calibre are being paid elsewhere.

Cherry picked from a feature in which Hodgson is highly praised by Gary Neville and, of all people, Chris Sutton, for his coaching methods.

In any walk of life, when you are managing people you have your own ideas about how things should be done. And you take a dim view of those that don't follow your instructions. Because as the manager, the buck stops with you.

I think this season has been a disappointment in that we haven't gathered as many points as we could have done from our home matches. In my opinion it's down to the failure to convert a higher percentage of chances created.

I think you are over estimating the strength of the squad. From September until January we only had a mis-firing Ayew as a recognised striker. Without Wilf we struggle and he's had spells out. At the moment we are missing Sakho in defence.

From the way some on here perceive Hodgson's management style, we would have a queue of players wanting to leave. Has that happened ? Has there even been a hint of it ??

Your point about wages is naïve at best. Take a look at our wage bill. Our guys are doing just fine I think you will find.

Then take a look at the clubs above us in the table. Like it or not, Watford are there on merit and have arguably over achieved this season. Wolves have had an exceptional first season. And spent big - and well. Everton, West Ham - pay high wages and £100m+ transfer outlays. If we overtake Bournemouth and finish 12th., I think that is roughly where we currently belong in this league.

You could argue that the system we play is what kept us up last season and has helped us maintain our Premiership status this season.
You could argue that some players are playing better
due to the system .
Most top teams will play the same system pretty much every game as the players are used to the system and
any player coming into the team know exactly what role is expected of them.
The better players you can afford the more more attacking/exciting you can be.
We rely on discipline because we do not have the calibre of players as the top six and we are above teams like Newcastle and below due to our system.
You do do not change a system to accommodate the likes of Max Meyer as has been suggested in other threads.Max Meyer if he was very good would fit into the role he is asked to do.

OK some times it may be boring , but football is an unpredictable sport especially when it comes to providing entertainment and you tend watch a lot more dross than you you do great games , it's not like the the cinema or the theatre when you have a good idea of whether the film will be to your taste or not.

At the end of the day I support Crystal Palace and I found the 2-0 win against Huddersfield a lot more satisfying than the '4-3' thriller defeat at Anfield.

You said he drops players that disobey him. Your words.

I'm merely asking you to name them.

Perfect summary.
With Batshuayi instead of the mis-firing Ayew from September to January we'd have 4-5 more points that would see us comfortably midtable.
The only small disappointment to me is the FA Cup, as we were so close to Wembley, and lost our chance, although they were home and so had the biggest chance to go through.

We need to give Roy a dignified goodbye, thank him for his service and do much, much better in manager recruitment.

With the exception of the shambles that was De Boer, all our managers have been the same - good enough to keep us up but that's it.

Roy has to go because he simply can't get the best out of the players. Look at our squad, we should be doing a lot better. Only Wilf & Luka are playing anywhere near their potential. Benteke has been turned to rubbish and we haven't been able to get anything out of Meyer. The rest are just under-performing.

We need a hungry, dynamic, able manager. Easy to say, hard to get of course, but we have to do better than just staying up by now and the football this season has been absolutely dire a lot of the time, especially at home.

We play on the ground a lot but where are the quick 1-2's and triangles around the box?? It can't be that hard to do and this is how you open teams up, yet we are so predictable in our approach. All down to the manager.

So please Parish, be brave twice. Thank Roy and say goodbye then work your nuts off to get a manager that can take us forward, as this season we've gone backwards.

Can't imagine defending this any more. Serving up dross here and playing like pussies. All our counter attacking threat is gone. He's turned us into a nothing side.

I agree with everything you’ve said apart from finding a replacement before saying goodbye to Roy. However, with Parish I don’t see a proactive manager search during his part ownership so wishful thinking.
