When I talk assets, I mean utilities, health, education, policing etc. Why are we letting things that the state /nation owns and is responsible for out to tender?

Yes, lets follow the US libertarian model of trying to eradicate the state when it comes to provision of services for the many, but not forgetting to maximise government support for the most wealthy in the form of huge tax breaks and federal funds for military spending and big business!
So you prefer a government 'that knows best'; you think that countries cannot flourish and prosper unless people conduct their lives in the manner laid down by the higher wisdom of a little group of people - predominately men? Or let's keep our assets as a nation rather than selling them cheap to politicians mates or foreign companies.
A number of these 'assets' were effectively work nothing because of the work of your comrades in the sixties and seventies. Red Robbo destroyed the car industry in this country with his constant strikes. Same for coal, steel and shipbuilding. Check your history Gusset. The left have done their best to destroy British industry through the politics of envy.

like letting them invest where they want, sell where they want and employ who they want? I agree.
Mind you.....It doesn't extend to Amazon trading in the UK but paying its tax to Eire on that UK business. All thanks to the EU that little gem.

It is left wing cliche heaven. Just like the post I responded too. I love it that you think 'assets' go to'politicians mates' yet you cannot substantiate this. You only said you wouldn't reply to my posts because I had you cornered by your own stupidity. I am glad history has repeated itself with this timid offering.

When I talk assets, I mean utilities, health, education, policing etc. Why are we letting things that the state /nation owns and is responsible for out to tender? Certainly the entire justice system should be under state control. The major activities and functions of social services, health and education should be under state control. There are areas where economic forces can contribute, such as insurance funded health care etc and there is no reason why they can't operate alongside state provision.

Methinks the lady doth protest too much. I think you'll find you're the one doing the paranoid protesting. One comment to you and apparently I'm some kind of internet spy sent here solely to annoy you. This is no doubt boring for others and self indulgent on your part. It's an internet forum, mate. There's no need to burst a blood vessel. If it's affecting you so much I'm happy to block you if there's such a feature. Edited by luckybuck (18 May 2014 5.34pm)
