Who remembers John Salako's goal from the half-way line at Forest in the early 90s? I can still see it now - I idolised him! Must have been what, 1992? Damn shame he did his cruciates - never quite the same after that. Although played a blinder in the Keown testimonial what are the chance of picking up on a free for next season? lol
Oh Yeah baby - Premiership here we come!!!! |

Salako's from the halfway line was class, it was 91/92 season i think, the season after the cup final. There has been so many great goals, but due to me being 17 the one that sticks in my mind and the greatest Palace goal i have seen is Hopkins at Wembley.
The only certainty, one constant in my life, is that I will always love and follow the Palace! The Pride of South London. |

1. Don Rogers against Man U when he put the ball one way, ran round Stepney the other way and put the ball in the empty net.

"Salako's from the halfway line was class, it was 91/92 season i think, the season after the cup final". Yes it was the season after the cup final, January 1991 I think. The match went to a second replay at their place where they stuffed us and Clough took the p1ss by deliberately playing with 10 men for the last half-hour! My favourite one is Pardews goal against Everton in 1989. Fantastic cross-field ball by Andy Gray, Pardew was one-on-one with Neville Southall (alledgedly the "best goalie in the world" at the time), Pardew pretended to shoot and Southall fell over leaving Super Al an easy finish!! Happy days.

What about Neil Shipperley's in the 2004 Play-off final vs West'am? I thought that was ok

Sod all the goals mentioned in this thread. Neil Shipperley, Division 1 Playoff Final, 29th May 2004 vs. West Ham United. It wasn't spectacular but it's the best goal I've seen.
