pretty obvious isn't it. While its illegal its not doing any harm at all so why change it?!? because criminals are getting money?! if you're funding them you can't complain because at the end of the day its a want not a need.

I've often wondered about this "gateway to harder drugs" thing that ganja is labelled with. Maybe you can help me figure it out. The way I saw it was that it was just as likely that kids are moving on to harder drugs because they are already doing something illegal -- the "new" drugs are effectively no worse than a smoke, as far as they see it. I'm not sure, therefore, whether legalising ganja would reduce this tendency to graduate to class As. What do you reckon? I should also add that most of the stoners I know, never went on to do anything other than smoke. So I also tend to wonder, sometimes, whether it is a problem at all. Again, maybe your experiences can shed some light on this, if you feel like posting them.

I think if people are foolish enough to try harder drugs because it makes them look cool, will do so weather ganja is legal or not. Personally, I have done harder drugs, but my reasons for doing so had absolutely nothing to do with the fact I like a smoke, or wanted to look cool infront of my mates. I'm araid I don't agree with this "gateway to harder drugs" theory.

It's almost certainly true that people who are into hard drugs started off with dope but that's not to say that dope does lead to the harder stuff. Many people, myself included, have smoked it for years and never had the slightest inclination to 'experiment' with other things. People have a choice and no government has a right to outlaw a substance which, as I've said before, is no different in terms of side effects to tobacco or alcohol.

I think you'll find governments are regularly doing things which they have no right to do. Such as imprisoning Afghan citizens without trial or basic human rights...
