A tricky one today, and given the short odds available I'm going to stick my neck out and propose a double: Systematic in the 1.55 at York, and Islington in the 2.55.

If you want to make a patent (singles, doubles, and treble) I suggest adding AP McCoy's ride on Puntal (Hereford 3.40).

What about Flemming in the 3.40 Hereford - any chance ?

I doubt it. But I bet Saxon backs it based on Curtis, and it romps home at 33/1 or something!

Thanks lads. Yep, the double came in (at 2/1 and 5/6), and so did Puntal at 1/4 if you were on it.

A £1 stake on the double would raise the winnings on even stakes to £12.50, the highest it's been so far!

What a total relief... a winner at last!

FYI Flemming opened the day at 33-1 but started the race at 20-1. It pulled up 4 fences out when placed 4th but well back from winner Puntal.

Today's nap is also at the big York meeting, this time it's Sir George Turner in the 2.55. I also think Sea Star has a good chance in the 3.25.

Second place again. (Sea Star won though)

Profit on even £1 stakes now down to £11.50

Today's nap to follow.

Plenty of possibles today, but none really leap out as cast-iron winners.

In the circumstances I'll plump for Persian Punch (York 3.20) but you might want to put a small saver on Zindabad to beat him in a forecast (if you are that way inclined).

Other good chances at York today are Reel Buddy (2.45) and Movie King (4.20). Plenty of good each-way chances running today.

Best chances at other meetings would be Rimrod (Salisbury 3.40), Sloe Gin (Salisbury 2.35) and Bodfari Signet (Perth 3.30).
