There is no full blooded Brits left, neither is there any full blooded french, americans, germans blah blah blah. Not gonna start an argument on this one, but that is a bit rich coming from a nation who tampered with EVERY culture they came across with on their world domination tour, killing off every living soul who didn't want to adhere to their religion and way of life ! Stop interfering in your culture ? You don't know the meaning of the sentence !! Holy crap. People like you - who were on the 'right' side of WWII - are the reason Germans can't do anything without being called Nazis or Hitler-lovers It's sad.

but when you start talking about how you English have always been so tolerant then it stops for me. You have NEVER been tolerant throughout history. So a bit of objectivity wouldn't be out of place ..
It was my dream to play for Palace and to make my debut. I've always played for the club so if I'm playing here, I wouldn't want to be anywhere else. - John Bostock (Nov 2007) |

its compulsory for students to take RE at gcse level, why? I'm under the impression that it was because of handing over the schools from the church, to the government. Part of the deal was that Religious Education would be compulsory, and despite some schools not teching it, it seems to still be alive in the National Curriclulum. What you mean .. i've got NOTHING against Germans at all, on the contrary I find them a great race and easy-going. Just like I like the English !!! What is the 'right' side anyway ?? I was only remarking, I wasn't blaming anyone !! Let's call it "generalising" .. afterall which nation in Europe is best at that you think ? (French all smell of garlic, German women don't shave their armpits, Dutch are always stoned, Belgians are boring, Welsh are sheepshaggers, Irish are stupid and drunk etc.. etc...) What happened years and years ago in the colonial days has got nothing to do with us and nothing to do with the Political Correctness crap going on in this country today! This country is very tolerant to other races and cultures - one of the best in the world. In fact, you have always been welcomed to this country and to Palace. And is your girlfriend English? I'm glad to have been of help to liven up this place (i like that once in a while ) P.S. yes my better half is English .. and we're very happy. English have always been welcomed here too (apart from millwall fans). See, different cultures do work sometimes (quite happy they are not too different ey ).. Christmas was a pagan celebration anyway - to mark the winter solstice (one of the most important pagan festivals - rebirth of the sun god..), so I wouldn't worry your easily offended, little Christian bones over it. Jesus Christ was apparently born sometime in January (if you believe that sort of thing), but the god botherers hijacked the pagan celebration date, because they were struggling to convert pagans to their own questionable slant on things. Having christmas trees is a pagan thing too, as is mistletoe. Since much of the tradition is neither English or Christian I don't really see that there is very much to be angry about.

If it is compulsory then my school broke the law 15 years ago, because I didn't have a single RE lesson while I was there (though it was a C of E school) - mainly because, as it wasn't an exam subject, I was allowed to miss it to fit in music lessons.
That's just the ramblings of a madman |

We're going a bit off topic here. The main issue is that Political Correctness (contrived by English people) is messing up this country. Banning the word Christmas is an example of this. (I noticed the Christmas lights up in Tooting High Street last night. How early???!!!).
