I'm sure your experiences have been terrible. I didn't say it before, but I've had sh*t from gypsies in the past too, including my 10 year old daughter being smacked in the face, and my brother-in-law's dog being stolen, tied to a post & left to starve. Appalling behaviour, agreed. But that still doesn't mean I will condemn an entire community for the sins of some of them. It's something I can't do, especially as I have come across some very sweet and kind traveller children with honest, hard-working parents in the course of my work. I work in a school and have met lots of traveller kids, some of who were difficult, most were just like any other kid.
I repeat, there's good & bad in all communities and I won't condemn an entire group (whether they are a seperate race or not) because of the behaviour of the most noticable of them.

sorry to bring this back up but for all those who have defended them................. this evening i saw something f***ing disgraceful a big white transit trying to run 3 year 10 girls over. you may start to think im making this s*** up but its true. they were crossing the road then all of a sudden the transit driver put his toe down and nearly hit one of the girls. me and my mate were so pissed off proceeded to run over to them and tell them exactly what we thought of them and then they proceeded to try and run us over by going after us in the transit and even getting half or so of the van on the path trying to run us over. how anyone can defend these people is beneath me. I see no evidence in your post that these people were 'pikeys' lol sorry they spoke in an irish accent and and all looked like travellers and had Fitzpatrick Landscapers on the side. but they werent dreesed up in green so im not 100% sure.

when they where at stanhope (before amida was built) they use to threaten us all the time and chase us on quadbikes beat up a few of my mates and rob just about anythink in the local area but they where soon got rid of and the caravan they left got burnt down but it was stinkin anyway. The pikeys up at bermondsy are different, although millwall fans they have always been ok to me when ive been there and i know local residents get on with them. they own there own ground and are mostly builders so not all pikeys are bad

PS Ricky - if someone burnt your home to the ground, even if you or your family didn't actually burn to death inside, would you think it was a problem?
