I was watching the highlights of the game earlier today, and one thing that really struck me (aided by those rather ghastly wet-look, cheap clingy nylon yellow shirts) is how much the overall physique of nearly all the players has improved. Seemed everyone now has a well defined 6-pack!

Has Ollie been addressing the lack of fitness with heavy sessions in the gym 'cos some of them are looking really bulked up from last year?

Fitness definitely needed looking at, I know footballs changed a lot over the years, but whatever era you’re thinking about or whatever level you’re at, if a team is letting in a lot of late goals, fitness is the first thing you look at, and we were visibly flagging in most games late on before Ollie took over

I thought so too. It must be some training regime because Ayew looked taller to me as well.

apparently thery're using a medieval rack in between weight training sessions, I hope thdey don't start dunking them in ponds to find out whether or not they're witches because it will be difficult to replace the ones who drown in time before the season starts.

As long as they're not dunking them in the Seine.

the 6 pack look is partly a result of an individuals body fat - the lower the % the more visible it is. Most heavy weight boxers don't show a 6 pack but clearly have pretty developed stomach muscles.

I would say both fitness and general fat levels have improved (so fat % has reduced) which makes you wonder what was going on previously as these things should be regularly monitored
