I have just recalled that song 'Gordon is a moron' by Jilted Joe.
Never enamoured by the song but I have guffawed and at the hand movements of a couple of chaps in the band.

I believe it's called Jilted John by Jilted John but everyone calls it Gordon is a Moron.

Nostalgia is big money these days. ask Bruce Springsteen, Bryan Adams, etc, all waaay past their best, but people want to say "I was there"

Look out for Oasis getting back together. And that reminds me of another load of turd I would put on Desert island Duds. Anything by Oasis is utter sheite. I realise many hundreds of thousands would disagree, but they are just a format band.

beatles tribute band
many of their tracks have a nod to them, but the early stuff has glitter & T.Rex riffs.

Watching your hero's in later life is a risk. I saw Roger McGuin play an intimate acoustic venue and he was brilliant. I also saw Television play about 15 years ago. The songs were as good and the musicianship ridiculously good. But dour and through the motions. No chemistry between band nor with audience.

Similar effect dependant on where the band is playing.

Back in the day I saw Chris Rea at Wembley and it was a very good professional set that he and the band played.

A year later again I saw him again in his home town of Middlesbrough and what a difference as they were an absolutely superb rock band that connected brilliantly with the audience

Back in the 80s, I was never enamoured by the sounds of 'Shakatak' or 'Maze'.

PP Arnold is playing in a pub in Hastings this Friday - if I manage to get a ticket I'll report back, she's 78 now, her and Nancy Sinatra are probably my two favourite vocalists.

Maze Ft Frankie Beverly, absolutely love them, seen them 5 times live. Shakatak were a bbc employees band jazz-funk vibe. Awesome.

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.

Those were the days . I see Maze at Wembley, would’ve been around 1986 I think because I’d just met the enemy
