Cant believe Southgate has reverted to type and put TAA in the centre midfield . I would have had him about 5th choice for one of those spots

I can't believe how some of the media pundits are saying its a brave choice, it's not he's doing the typical England manager thing playing it careful. I would have started with Wharton.

Wrong team, won’t win unless he changes lineup

Serbia are a team awash with players 'North' of 6ft they have a proclivity to cross the ball from wide areas and they are a potent threat in the air in forward positions. Marc Guehi at 6ft is not tall for a central defender and I do not believe his partner in defence, John Stones' has played many games as a central defender at Man C this season.

The second half cried out for Wharton in the centre playing sharp passes in behind and Eze on the left running at defenders. Not Gallagher and Bowen. Palmer for Foden too.

Foden and Bellingham has Gerrard and Lampard written all over it. Southgate needs to be brave and only play one of them...they are both 10s...Foden ineffective out left. I dislike Gordon a lot...but even he'd be a better option out left for me.

Watching Kane was like watching a Palace centre forward playing under Hodgson. You can't tell if it was lack of service or the player was lazy but they were just not involved in the game.

So you are predicting a shambles against Serbia with Kane up front, then a drastic change for the second match with Foden up front. Interesting. Edited by YT (16 Jun 2024 6.08pm) Kane and Foden were the worst two players for us and TAA wasn’t far behind, if they stay in the team, quarters at most
