There has never been a better time to be a palace player. For Olise let’s see if we can hold on to him, no doubt the club will do all they can. As for him turning down Chelsea, I don’t believe that and time will reveal all….it will be a great shame when he does go. I hope Guehi finally cements the CB spot for England, he is a wonderful defender, have a great tournament Guehi and let’s get max profit from his sale to fund our summer. Hopefully it’s enough to persuade others to stay including Mateta and Eze. Top 4 or top 6 is achievable

According to click bait Moan United have offered Everton £30m less than their asking price for Braithwaite. Some on here have predicted that with FFP rules not changing this season some of the so called big boys will struggle to finance their buys. If this is true it's good news for us. We don't need to sell any players so if the top 6 come calling and don't offer the going rate they can get stuffed. Fingers crossed.

According to this article [Link] (that includes an interview with a "football finance expert" ) that was posted the other day, we probably have around a 60m budget for players this summer without any sales. If true we're under no pressure to sell and it would all be down to contract clauses or whether we get any crazy offers. My gut feeling is that if one of Eze or Olise goes then they'll both go, as to me it seems like their friendship is important to them wanting to stay. Alan Nixon (Palace supporting) journalist was quoted yesterday as saying right now Olise would be happier to stay at Palace than go elsewhere. Edited by taylors lovechild (02 Jun 2024 9.34am)

All the close season clickbait is so irritating.

I just don't see how utd get rid of Antony or sancho, there's no club out there who will pay their wages, and even a club as big as utd won't have 3 players on the right all on big wages. The club has dug a hole for themselves. They have quite a few overpaid & underperforming players whose wages most other clubs can't afford. The only reason a player would leave CP to go to Man U is wages. I personally believe that if Palace can hold onto their players they will finish above Man U this season.

Exclusive: Chelsea Agree Personal Terms for 'Sensational' Star Excuse my lack of knowledge as far as football transfers go, but shouldn't the chain of events go like this: Chelsea make an offer which either we accept or meets his release clause > we give the player permission to speak to club > personal terms are met > Payment made Didn't this happen last time when we accused Chelsea of "tapping up"?

About 30 minutes ago I saw a clickbait article reporting personal terms had been agreed with UTD, so I guess it falls into the "make of it what you will" category. But yes it does seem as though the natural order of things is a bit skewwhiff here, although if its got any truth on it Chelsea would probably just say , we were going to buy him a year ago & we know what he wanted then, so we already know we can afford anything he is likely to ask for now. His RC is, apparently very complicated and this rumour seems to have been started by a Clickbait site. Last year Palace threatened Chelsea with legal action over the way they “ approached” this matter. Seems this is a rehash. Also was there not suggestions that only CL clubs could activate it? May be wrong there

IF Chelsea have agreed terms one assumes they will have intimated their willingness to meet the release clause terms - assuming they qualify. Logic suggests such intimation would be given to Palace and perhaps - I don't know for sure - they are then free to sound him/his advisors out. Surely they wouldn't risk a wrap on the knuckles after last time.

They probably agreed personal terms last year as well. Chelsea discussing payment schedules sounds like they have not met the release clause. It's not just agreeing the amount it's when will it be paid as well. Remember when we bought Benteke we agreed Liverpool's fee but wanted to base it around Palace qualifying for the Champion's League, yeah they didn't fall for that one. I can't see Palace agreeing to payment on the never never (Chelsea like 8 year deals) . I also can't see Chelsea having the FFP wiggle room to hand over £60m cash on the nail. If this is true hopefully this will flush out any other buyers. At the moment it sounds like the sort of tyre kicker deal that Spurs do. Edited by Badger11 (11 Jun 2024 7.56am)
