With the current state of their squad in age, wages, transfer values, form, this is probably the worst point of the Premier League era for them. The way Olise is playing, he should be thinking Liverpool, Arsenal, City, Bayern, PSG, Real Madrid, Barcelona, and only going if he's considered a first 11 player. The guy is on a different level. The only players above him for goals per minute in the league this season are Haaland, Isak, Palmer and Jota - and three of them are on penalties. If France give him a surprise Euros call up (he has to be in with an outside shot of a call up?) his value will accelerate through the roof.
If he wants to play for France, PSG it is

I heard that Olise is a Utd fan. Not sure how true that is. They could give us 200 mil plus Antony and Casemiro - or 100mil without them.

Possibly Man City may not be considered to be viable due to the uncertainty of the 100 plus charges looming on the horizon……..

Is this right that Olise's transfer clause can only be triggered by a Champions League club ?

It's also been said that the release clause is not straightforward - whatever that means. It's good news for us as Chelsea and Man U are linked but neither are Champions League - so ching, ching. I don't want Olise to go but it would be nice if we got the money we deserve for a player for once. Pretty sure Olise counts as a home grown player too so that adds to the value. He should be 100 mil in all fairness to some of the dross that's been near that. Not 50 or 60.

I can understand City or Arsenal, or the big clubs in Europe but Villa! Really! It wouldn't show much ambition to go to Villa, it wasn't too long ago we were at least their equal. In 2023 they may have the double on us, but in 2022 we beat and drew against them. I honestly don't see the point in him going there. Next season we could be in their position as long as we don't lose important players and with Ollie in charge. Stay were you are loved young man, at least for one more year and see where this magical ride takes us and you. Olise is on a 100k a week with us on his new deal. Given people like Casemiro and Antony are reportly on 325k a week Olise's agent could easily ask and expect him to get at least that figure. Problem for United at the moment is that they have too many non performing players locked into long term contracts earning massive wages. The size of the wage means the player is hard to shift on as although the transfer fee might be agreed the player will not want to take a cut in wages to facilitate the move.

It was the BBC who said a few ago that the release clause was ‘not straightforward’ so who knows? Like everyone else I hope we can keep him.

Rumours online, Olise has reached agreement to sign for Utd. Smells like BS to me but let’s wait and see.
