I've always felt he scores similar types of goals. - slide rule passes in between opposition right back and centre half, where he runs on to the ball, and is able to cut inside or go outside. Maybe certain patterns of play, as well as positions, suit him. Edited by RubinsCube (26 Feb 2024 9.39pm)

There's a player in there somewhere, but getting the player out we need/want him to be could be difficult.

However they were both blessed with quite outrageous talent. IMO at Edouard's level of talent he needs to work. And sure, everyone goes though a bad patch. But if you still have a good work rate as a base, you are useful to the team. JMP is a good example of that. Even with out scoring he positively impacts the team. On sat it was his great hold up and turn that set Franca free for the pen. If Edouard doesn't score, he adds nothing.

He takes one too many touches to set himself when inside the box. It's a constant tap, tap, tap with his left foot before eventually being tackled or the shot being blocked. He's a defenders dream as they can position themselves perfectly. Forwards that take one touch to get it out their feet and then hit it are more likely to catch defenders, goalkeepers of guard. I will say, he has often been a catalyst for nice link up play in a few games, he works well with Eze and Mitchell down the left side. However, as many have said, his work rate is lacking. JPM's link up play is there, he shoots on sight, he works harder, he's a nuisance and bully's defenders. I struggle to see how Edouard gets back to the focal centre forward position.
