I may be a cynic…I suggest you read some of the comments and links that others have contributed to this discussion further on in the debate and you may notice that being a cynic is not unfounded.

I read them. Most are based on a cynical and prejudiced interpretation of events.

So their foundation depends much more on the world view of the viewer than their actual content.

The only question here is whether Anderson will leave the Tories and joins Reform. He could also take some of his Tory pals with him.
This could have a big impact on former red wall seats and be disastrous for the Tories.

The real issue here is the growing influence of Islam on our politics.
Tower Hamlets is already run by Muslims. Sadiq Kahn has his eye on Muslim votes with his policy towards policing and beyond.
Policing Palestinian demonstrations is costing a fortune and using up police resources. Parliament changed its rules through fear of attacks on MPs. Muslim political movements are growing around the country.

Leftists and minority reps want to dress this up as Islamophobia, but that ridiculous word is simply another way to avoid debate and criticism.

Ultimately, politicians both red and blue have caused all these problems and the electorate have every right to punish them at the ballot box. They must take that opportunity.

Neither main party deserves our support. A vote is the best form of protest.

I am sorry but I have to agree with much of this. Not something that comes naturally to me on the politics threads!

However, the question is: so who do I vote for? I have a pathological hatred of abstaining. I have always voted and consider my cross to be the sacred product of millennia of struggle.

But given the candidates I will have to chose from, we are back to Cucking's description of 3 days into Glastonbury and wondering which portaloo to take a dump in.
