Negatives, late goals suggests issues need addressing.

Of the key players out, only Franca may appear before the end of the month; Olise not till mid-April; Doucoure (and Guehi, possibly?) not till next season.

Positives, very hard done by in some results and OG now has time to work on fitness - both mid and body.

And the teams below us (and possibly above us) doing even worse. We may catch a couple rather than be caught.

According to Alan Nixon, Olise may start training with the squad this week and the player is hoping to be in contention by the end of the International break. Time will tell just how accurate that is.

As for Doucoure, the Palace site says this:

'Oliver Glasner has confirmed that Cheick Doucouré is on track to return to action this season, but says attaining full fitness before the start of the 2024/25 Premier League season is the most important ambition.'

I believe Guehi is expected back in middle/late April.

Whilst I welcome this news if accurate, is it worth risking these players, especially Olise for the sake of what, 3-4 games?

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.

Not unless things are desperate which hopefully they won’t be

A bad performance last night with probably,an unexpected defeat at Bournemouth after a well deserved point at Forest.
Good news tonight with Luton losing to Arsenal.Their goal difference is against them, they trail us by eight points and we have a game in hand,so not all bad news by any means as we prepare to play undoubtedly one of the top sides in the World on Saturday.
No pressure then.

Luton do have home games against Brentford and Bournemouth coming up, games which I could see them winning. The size of that points gap may not last if we can't find a way of winning a game or two.

If they make up the points, they may well make up the goal difference. I was hoping Arsenal would smash them tonight but they rested some players (and didn't start Nketiah).
Of course, if they beat Brentford then the Bees will miss out on some points. But Brentford have a relatively easy run-in and I expect them to finish above us

Luton, eight points behind us,also have some challenging fixtures and may well struggle to reach us,even if we fail to win another game.
Very good news with Burnley and Sheffield dead and buried.

Not good today with both Luton and Everton winning. The ball is still in our court, but we have got find some points from somewhere.

I'm getting a feeling that I haven't had for a long time.

We could be in trouble here. Our fixtures are not looking good, and I expect all the teams below us to get a few more wins.

I'm hoping that Everton get another big deduction.
