The problem with us football fan predictions is they are usually either too optimistic (that'll be me) or cynically (disillusioned?) pessimistic. Thank goodness I don't back up my predictions with betting. especially this season. Given the relative strengths and weaknesses of the two teams' respective defences and attacks this could be a goalfest, especially if Roy removes the shackles and the crowd really get behind them.

As a club I like Bournemouth and respect what they have achieved (like Palace only partly thanks to Yankee money). Unlike the local population it is not a geriatric team (there used to be a saying "Dover for the continent, Bournemouth for the incontinent".

Finally, as mentioned by other posts, and given the big games coming up, please Roy let some of the youngsters have even brief cameos. Better now than having is hand forced by new injuries.

I would settle for a draw right now!
Wilf used to tie them up in knots so unless Olise can do the same a score draw would almost be welcome!

Not replacing Wilf at all is the biggest mistake by the club in the last 5 or so years and they’ve made a few.

To those happy with a point at home to Bournemouth what would they be happy with in the two subsequent games v Liverpool and Manchester City?

Not sure anyone will feel particularly happy about it but it seems fairly realistic considering form, momentum and injuries. It's frustrating not to have higher expectations at the moment but that's where we are.

As for the next two fixtures I personally usually go into them hoping that we don't concede more than 3 and that we might bag a goal ourselves.

I'd argue a healthy Eze and Olise are both better than Zaha and whilst not immediate carbon copies I'd argue fulfil the same role/significance to the team... I also dreamt once that we'd also sign a coveted player from South America to act as another exciting you forward footed player - Sadly no-one told Roy.

I believe you are referring to Franca. It should be noted that he is inexperienced and most of his appearances for Flamengo were from the bench. The poor chap was also injured when he arrived at our club. The young lad is considered a 'Work in progress'.

I do not think we will score and, at the moment, Bournemouth have goals sprinkled through their team. Bournemouth win I fear.

Bournemouth have had 7 scorers in the PL this season, the same number as ourselves.

Tonight the manager has to demonstrate he has still 'got it' - if not then the immediate future looks very grim.

If he starts Ward, Hughes and Schlupp and we are losing and brings on substitutes please let that be no later than 65 minutes and please, please NOT Mateta or Riedewald. I will lose my faith completely in him if he does not play Ahamada.

This business of 'respecting the point' as against West Ham has its merits but NOT in a home match against relatively moderate opposition. The games ahead are much tougher and if we don't get three points tonight the future and our morale will become desperate.

If so, to be sure, contributors on here will be very, very upset.

Who is the left winger then because Eze is a central attacking midfielder and Olise is a right sided midfielder/winger? Neither score as prolifically as Zaha and neither impact the game as much as Wilf did although when played together they benefit us as you can’t afford to put two defenders on both.

If we had picked up a proper winger in the summer we would carry a lot more threat on the left side than provided by Schlupp or Ayew or whoever else Roy picks.

Franca is primarily a central attacking midfielder and would probably play in the same position as Eze which again begs the question why he was bought ahead of a Wilf replacement.

It would be brilliant if just one of our seven scorer hits the net tonight!!

You should know better, Rc, than to take on Willo when it comes to obscure facts.
