I honestly think that some form of super league will be launched by UEFA / FIFA - to keep the golden goose within the family, rather than see it become the product of some outside organisation.

Every time a breakaway league has been announced it has failed! Only it hasn't.

The Champions League replaced the European Cup because of the threat from the top clubs. The format has been extended several times for the same reason and will again next season making qualification easier.

UEFA decided against introducing a rule where a clubs previous form in the CL would be taken into account e.g. If Man City finished 5th they qualified if Palace finished 5th they didn't. However that will surely happen in the not too distant future.

The Super League is already here the big clubs are getting what they want.

Although I do believe that the rich & greedy will continue to push the envelope until clubs like Man City are playing opposition like Real Madrid, Barcelona & PSG every week.

Everton, the last Medium-sized club to have never been relegated from the Prem.

it was wonderful when Villa went down. And it will be wonderful to pop the balloon of pride of those Toffee fans.

the rest of us all know about relegation. Even Man City. Also Newcastle and many big clubs. Leeds, Sunderland, Middlesboro, Sheffield and lots of big cities (or big clubs) have been denied Prem football by stalwarts like Everton who refuse to budge.

Everton just beat Newcastle.

The Toffees are not even in the relegation zone anymore. And they have a better Goal-difference than us.

What an impressive result.Put an excellent Champions League side to the sword and perhaps we missed a trick in not appointing Dyche when he was available, rather than relying on yesterday's man!!

while i fully support Roy, you may be onto something. Everton going from strength to strength. They could still finish in the top half of the table.

they beat the Scum yesterday, 2-0

Please deduct them 20 points, when they lose their appeal, and look into Bournemouth and Forest's spending. Not that we will be relying on three teams with lower points.

I think they won those points back too easily; therefore I propose they deduct another 10 points!

dodgy finance clubs got the messsage.....fiddle the books and stay in this league. Chelsea, Man City etc....they all could shake off a ten point deduction with impunity. It would only upset their title challenge and/or CL qualification.

deduct 30 points from any club fiddling the books. And let them enjoy next season in the Championship.

Although I was joking, it does make a mockery of the process really as without relegation they are not really any worse off. So, in conclusion, if you're going to breach FFP make sure you really go for it to ensure the squad is strong enough to shrug off any punishment.

Good point. Chelsea spring to mind immediately. They have about twenty youngsters that are likely to come good at some point.
