new question :

what is the worst movie ever ?

for me, John Carter.....by a country mile. They must have spent a hundred million dollars on this utter pile of dogshyte.

I don't think films like Plan 9 from Outer Space or the The Wild Women of Wonga should fall into the category of worst movie. Awful, sure, but made by a small band of needy but passionate folk on a budget akin to a primary school nativity.

Full marks for bad has to go to big budget disasters made by the Studios. It is next to impossible to make a movie, and every project has to go through filter after filter before it is green lit. Hindsight is easy but...

John carter I have not seen. But I have seen Ishtar and the Swarm etc. I struggle to comprehend how they could have been sanctioned given the sums involved and the misguided belief by many highly qualified people that they could have made a profit, let alone be any good.

You didn't miss anything. My brother was a window cleaner for a while and would tell me his 'stories'. Hence Confessions of a Window Cleaner. Lets just say the titillation is freely available on line these days.

Movies are a handy way to launder money. Explains many a movie.

Yeah that always made me laugh. Everyone seems to know he's a police grass and yet they still talk to him and reveal their evil plans. I guess the writers used him as a character to move the plot along.

Today of course it's the Nerd who moves the plot forward.

"Hey boss I hacked into his bank account in the Cayman Islands and discovered the money comes from a Mexican cartel. Here's their name and address and handily I have id photos and cell numbers."

I’ve always liked “it’s all gone Pete Tong” not sure it’s that popular and it’s hardly a classic, but I like it

Ha, I was going to say that!

A plethora sprung up on Park Street, a prominent shopping street in Bristol. The bloke cutting my hair then (who's Godfather was actually one of the Richardson's of gang fame, so he should know) said: do the maths. Park Street rent, £10 cuts.

And no one noticed bookies, casinos, car parks, mini cab/ taxi firms, amusement arcades, or the price of art or horses?
