He is too young, I know he is a sweaty but it will be Moyes, the England job is normally a pre - retirement gig.Except for Roy the touchline biffo king.

I’m not sure a Scot would want the job!

I'm not putting too much credibility into the Southgate rumours. He could be at the games just to keep an eye on the England players that CP has...it his job after all. He is ambitious though and if he can get some spend he could use a short Palace tenure as a stepping stone to something better. I don't want us to be someone's rebound choice.

I don't see Potter as a realistic option. Probably going to England job once GS leaves. Just my feeling. I'm not sure we want to be the place where he redefines himself.

Roy for another year. I'm ok with that but the poor man can't last forever and at some point the Board is going to have to decide the direction they want to head and actually chose a manager and not depend on poor Roy bailing them out again.

Just to throw this out there. How about Dyche when he inevitably gets canned by Everton? Would he be a good fit now?

I hate these international breaks..

Southgate played in that game and was Boro captain.

McLaren was actually the manager.

If Paddy no there then it will be Southgate. Continuity of ex England managers is good.

I take it all back. After last night. What was Henderson doing on the pitch? Way off the pace. Maguire so rusty.
Maddison?........I'll say just one three letter word that Southgate obviously doesn't agree with.......EZE.

I'd rather Potter as manager than Southgate,Southgate to defensive.

Get potter on a pre contract now.

Steve Cooper is the man for next season. Their owner who looks like Pavaroti after too many kebabs is as mad as a box of frogs and will sack him during the season.

Gareth is obviously well thought of at the club after his playing career but I think he will be looking for a bigger club to ply his trade.

Players were allowed to leave left right and centre with very silly replacements the majority without Southgate's approval, a clubs misfortune has very little to do with the manager.

After the negativity against Ukraine it would be a step backwards to have Southgate.

His team selection was baffling.

An extra defensive midfielder in Henderson was not required and merely congested the centre. Maddison was played out of position.
It was left to Kane to provide the telling pass for our goal

Supposedly managing the best players in the country with loads of possession yet he employed the old boring Palace culture of passing sideways and backwards ad infinitum.

The introduction of Eze would have shown enterprise but that word is not in his vocabulary.

Not wholly convinced by Potter but better him than our current England manager, thank you very much.

Q? Why do you keep spouting off the same old boring mantra word for word in literally every post you make? Are you Coopers English (sub)Agent? Why would cooper leave a 'bigger' club to come to us?

Cooper may well be sacked by your 'kebab mate who's as mad as a box of frogs' His name btw is Evangelos Marinakis. Try to remember it, ok?

Not strictly true. Potter took most of his coaching team with him to Chelsea. Potter certainly managed well what Tony Bloom and Paul Barber gave him, but what de Zerbi is doing is a few legs up from Potter. At Chelsea, Potter was dismal. Id take Roy in a heart beat before Potter. Plus he is a sea weed.
Their boy Ferguson has a similar look to Haaland.

I'm certainly not denying that De Zerbi has taken them to the next level and if you have me a choice between Potter and De Zerbi I'd pick the latter.

My point is that, regardless of which coaches stayed or left, Potter laid some fantastic foundations at Brighton which De Zerbi has built upon.

As for his job at Chelsea, well every passing week that other managers fail to sort out that absolute basket case of a club further proves that actually Potter might not have been the problem.

I'm not desperate for us to appoint Potter but in a head to head between him and Southgate, as far as I'm concerned it barely warrants discussion, and Southgate playing two defensive midfielders against a Ukraine side who were content to park the bus is exactly why I never want him to be our manager.

Whilst i agree with all this, tbf, Southgate did score an absolute mazy run of a goal against Pompey(i think) in a 5-0 demolition at SP that long ago, snowflakes were things that came from the skies. Would i want him as a Palace manager, big fat NO! So, he's nailed on then . . .
