Thanks for responses chaps. I guess Ezer it is then. I will savour his silky, fleet footed skills for this season at least and sincerely hope he renews his contract for the future. As was the case with Olise, who I can't wait to see join him on the pitch, if Eze stays with us it will feel like a fabulous new signing. Maybe if we finish 6th in the table they will both consider their futures to be at Selhurst Park.
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |

I've always pronounced his name 'Ezay', but I've recently noticed that radio and TV commentators now pronounce it 'Ezer' which doesn't sound right to me. Has he, at some point, clarified the way his name should be pronounced? How do you pronounce his name Lanzo, apart from God obviously. Here's the man himself, enunciating his name as it is correctly pronounced (even so, I'm still not sure it's 100% conclusive!):

For us fans though this is likely to be his last season at Palace as unless he has a change of heart on the contract extension he will leave next summer. If he continues in his current vein there should be plenty of suitors. 100mil starting bid You’re right, I would be amazed if it isn’t, I’m sure he would’ve now been advised if it wasn’t obvious to himself, don’t hang on too long like Wilf did and be signing any long contracts with us, it made Wilf too expensive and cost him a big move to one of the big boys

Good article on Eze if anyone hasn’t seen it. I am not just saying this because Wilf has gone but Eze is a class above Wilf in every aspect of the game. What a player he is.

Brilliant that he is still here post transfer window, but we really need to planning for a replacement because barring any unforeseen circumstances I can't see him being here another season after this year. Maybe Franca is planned as the successor bit we seem to be in for wait on that one.

Lanzo, I've dug you out a bit in the past. Thought it was about time for me to admit now that you've called it right all along about Eze. I couldn't see it in the early days, but you're right - he really is an outstanding/generational talent. Hats off to you.
Jackson.. Wan Bissaka.... Sansom.. Nicholas.. Cannon.. Guehi.... Zaha... Thomas.. Byrne... Holton.. Rogers.. that should do it.. |

Agreed, different players but Eze is more of a complete player. Wilf is a club legend but Eze epitomises a champions league player. If he keeps developing under Roy this season it will certainly be his last here. Let’s enjoy him while it lasts. Not just a great player but a great personality too

Read a comment somewhere - potentially this generations “Gazza” - now that’s high praise indeed - Gazza still the best English footballer I’ve ever seen - and I can see in footballing terms the comparisons. Can’t wait to see Eze, Olise and Franca on the pitch together - with Edouard on fire - stop it..!! Should be/will be a sight to behold…!! COYP
