Not when it comes to transfer windows ! Would you say that signing, Olise, Eze, Andersen, Guehi, Gallagher, Doucoure, is a sign that they Don't know what they are doing. Or going a bit further back, Macca, Ayew or Ward, or even Bolaise.. I know there have been some flops but point to any team that hasn't signed a player and it didn't work out. In fact I would say that compared to other clubs in the league we are good at sighning players that fit our club.

I’ve just watched Roy’s post Seville press conference. More broadly he says that the team have lost a number of senior players since last season and have only brought in one in Lerma, and that there is insufficient depth to the squad meaning that the chairman and DOF ‘have work to do’ before the end of August to rectify this. My take from this is that we will try and keep Olise , probably with an enhanced contract , and there are likely to be a few new arrivals .

My suspicion too, the money from an impending Olise sale is being used to purchase Franca with the remaing money left to purchase Gray. That will be us done apart from a possible loan. Striker and FB positions won't be addressed and we will plod on with what we have

Off the back of watching the Sevilla 'friendly' we desperately need to hang onto Olise or risk turning into a one trick pony... again. Eze was majestic and I really do hope we tie him down but fear the reported offer made to Wilf may have set a dangerous precedent. In the current market I think they are both worth £100k+ a week and sincerely hope if they do have a buy out clause, its north of £70m. Improved terms like that, may keep them both at Palace for at least a couple of more years... Or is that wishful thinking?

Roy acknowledging that clubs are in for Olise and that we face a battle to keep him is the closest we’ve seen to confirmation of the rumours from the club itself. This is where the existence of the possible release clause becomes material; if other clubs meet the terms of the clause he can leave. In fact if he doesn’t agree a new contact and expresses a desire sir to leave he may well go anyway and all we can do is extract maximum value .

It doesn't sound too far off the price another 10 mill might get it over the line i reckon . What did Palace pay for him 8 mill 42 mill profit not bad , it would get alot of the new stand built . id still rather keep him for another season . [Link]

I don't want to piss people off but putting this altogether, it looks like Olise does have a release clause and we're trying to negotiate a new contract to keep him. Just looks like that when you consider it all.
