Just publicity froth. And on one level I don't have a problem with limiting the audience. The only time I would be opposed is if the production is in anyway publicly financed. But if not, then a commercial decision. And do any of us want to go?

Yes. The director should have that freedom unless there is public funding involved. The theatre involved is the Theatre Royal, Stratford East. It is bunged a million pounds a year by the Arts Council England as there seems to be minimal audiences for their offerings. If the white director did what I said, he would of course be arrested and charged with some sort of hate crime, whereas Matthew Xia is free to make his racist comments.
