Can just imagine the conversations that took place

SP “Well Dougie, that’s it a loss to Brighton, but at least we had a shot on target”

DF “Och aye Steve, well I think PV should go as those moments we attacked and didn’t score really hit our confidence and shape. We’d have got a 0-0 otherwise and a point, and a point a game will keep you up over a season”

SP “agreed Dougie, he’s gone, Paddy for the weekend”

One 4-1 loss later

DF” I tell you Steve it’s this attacking lark, everytime we don’t score it makes the chances of 0-0 even less”.

SP “don’t worry Dougie, I’ve just the man for the job……..”

DF "You don't mean?"
SP "I certainly do Dougie. And he's from Croydon too. Perfect credentials"
DF "I quit"
SP "Don't go Dougie I need you! Who else is going to compliment me on my ill fitting choice of suits?!"
DF "Mark is still around"
*Enter MB stage left*
MB "I just heard the news, word gets around fast in these corridors"
SP "He's from Croydon Mark, surely that means something?"
MB "I quit too"
SP "Woe is me! I am forsaken, the wrath of the gods is upon me!"
*Cue dramatic music, curtains close*

Let's all get behind Roy,he is Palace through and through. It’s not his fault that this is the second basket case of a club he is being asked to try and keep up.Ask Fulham fans how they think about him after taking them to a Europa league final which they were unlucky to lose.I am happy that he is the best short term answer to this self inflicted crisis we find ourselves in due to long term poor squad choices.COYP

If i post what i really feel on here, i'll get castigated(more than i normally do). That preening peacock in Soho, has shown his true colours & gone for the, albeit, safe, but ever so cheap option. It wouldn't bother me in the slightest if we get relegated now, we've been flirting with that for years. Our fans deserve better, but, they are unimportant, just another easy financial stream.

God help us over the next 10 games. I support the CLUB, not the manager, not the players & certainly not the Chairman. COYP

Rant over.

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.

I don't have a problem with this. Firstly it is just until the end of the season which gives Parish more time to find the right manager to take the club forward. Secondly if you look at the attacking players in our team, Eze, Zaha and Olise, they are all good at carrying the ball. That to me says we should be a counter attacking team and that is what Roy does. It may not be the most attractive football but it suits the players we have

What a disaster. This is the Board’s fault.

Patrick was a refreshing appointment, designed to take the club to another level. But he wasn’t backed. He wasn’t funded. And we made poor progress (as usual) in the transfer windows. Not getting Gallagher back (or a replacement at his level) was another disaster.

The Board has driven the club to this position, re-signing a manager under which we played the worst, most turgid, awful football I have ever seen. I feel so sorry for the season ticket holders this season - dross compounded.

Please can we have a Board with some actual ambition (and yes, that requires proper investment £££).

Whatever happens at the end of the season, who will want to join this basket case of a club? Another season beckons (up or down) with no squad improvement (and, more likely, decline).

This is just like a bad dream. I can't believe what a shambles this club is. Could this really happen to anyone else, anywhere?

Yes it happens at a lot of clubs which are failing and where the manager is sacked. Just look at what's happening at Spurs . Conte has bad mouthed the players and the club but is still in charge. Still not sure why Vieira was sacked when so much was due to lack of recruitment. But at least he's moved quickly and Roy has ten games to improve results against teams like Palace struggling at the bottom. I don't care if he gets ten more draws. We just need the points

There must be more to this whole saga than meets than we know.
At the end of the day SP is a marketing man I believe and concerned about image. He has also been Chairman for a very long time - I don't believe he panicked. Either the Americans panicked at the possibility of relegation and the consequent devaluation of their investments or there much is more to the Viera saga.
Let's move on and get behind Roy and the team. Ok the football was at times dire but he did a brilliant job before with the resources he had.
