Also - we are in the bottom 5/6 for goals for and against - not good stats if they continue.
Last four games read 3 goals for and 9 against!

PV is only half way through his second season as a Premier League manager.

In the time he has been at Palace he has ;

Overseen a radical change in playing style
Integrated new signings in the summer of 2021
Lost three midfield players in Gallagher, MacArthur and Kouyate
Not had the backing in the transfer market to improve a very average squad

Yes, he’s made mistakes. And of course his team selections and tactics are challenged by supporters who think they know better. That’s the same at every club.

I’ve been disappointed with some of his decisions of late, but overall I think he’s doing a good job given the constraints under which he works.

He needs our support now more than ever because we have a tough few weeks ahead.

I agree with all you say, and he does need our support, but will we ever have the players to be Man City 2, the thing that concerns me most is the lack of passion and seemingly giving up as soon as we go behind.

“That’s a joke son, I say, that’s a joke.” “Nice boy, but he’s sharp as a throw pillow.” “He’s so dumb he thinks a Mexican border pays rent” “ “Son… I say, son, some people are so narrow minded they can look through a keyhole with both eyes.”__ Forhorn Leghorn

I don't think PV has done anything to warrant praise. Equally, giving him abuse serves no positive purpose.

He has had a chunk of money to spend to replenish the squad after Roy went, and we have not improved a bit since then. He has cost us points with poor substitutions and naive tactics.
The best thing you can say about him is that his reputation as a player has helped attract certain players to the club.

Aside that, as is typical, the club did not buy enough players in the summer and our form this season has been fairly predictable given the squad.
We need left and right backs plus another striker and an attacking midfielder at least. What we have now is simply not sufficient.

PV second season in EPL was always going to be the more difficult due to the fact that we are in theory were not dissimilar to a newly promoted team that had a reasonable first season and then tactically were found out by the more experienced EPL head coaches that often causes second season teams to struggle with ""second season syndrome" this often results in relegation. PV second season problems were further exacerbated by losing CG (by far our best player in PV first season with the club) and the inability of the board to replace him and then to add insult to injury they allowed Kouyata who was robust and good at his job to move away for free because Parish did not want to offer an extra 12 months on his contract. The current squad is very short of proven EPL quality and experience with PV often having to use players that really should not be in a EPL first team squad at all based on their ability and age. The problems we face are primarily down to lack of investment in players by the current board over the last five years Our average investment over that period has been £11.5mil/per season. The only other team who has spent less in that period and are still surviving in the league is Soton and look at where they are. Three of our four main board members are more interested in other things than this football club and two of three want out meaning they are reluctant to invest further in the club. Parish doesn't have the individual wealth to make much difference, this is now making him delusional by believing he can survive on a couple of loan signings this window. Our next 9 league games taking us up until then end of March looks very difficult on paper and points will be hard to find based on the player form ratings from last Wednesday's game, which frankly are the worst I have ever seen for this football club. Some of course believe that our Academy is going to save us in the future, sadly nothing could be further from the truth, statistics say that only 0.5% of entrants will make it to elite level.I agree the manager has his faults and is inexperienced but the true problems that this club faces is lack of investment in players at this level and sadly this season it may well prove very difficult for us to survive. I do hope I'm wrong!

ok folks it is only his 2nd season but we need to find a way to SCORE goals
I thought that was what the game was about.
We DO NOT have a striker.
There is 1 midfielder (Doucore)
without Mitchell we have little defence

Time to spend some money and get at least a striker (laughable to think of Ayew as one!)
An extra midfielder
An extra defender

so my wish list 1 of each

Don't agree.

What we need is a holding midfielder (unfortunately a very rare breed as Southgate will concur)

If we have someone to keep the ball, bring it forward and pick a pass then even fairly mediocre strikers like Mateta and Edouard will blossom, well Edouard anyway.

Back to the subject. Can anyone explain the manager's logic in bringing on TWO strikers against Spurs ?

How many other clubs, that have been in administration twice in the last 25 years and are in our position of 10 years in the Premier. There are plenty of ex big clubs that would love to be in our position.
It’s no point saying the board should invest more, it’s a business and just pouring in money isn’t viable, as clubs need to be sustainable and we have been down the route of pouring in money and ended up skint.
The issue lies in recruitment, we just don’t appear to be picking up players in Europe that can fit into the first team. Teams like Brentford, Fulham and Brighton seem to do it regularly

Freedman is stealing a living, he needs to get off his arse and do something about it!
