It will be interesting to see if Rak Sakyi can return from his spell at Charlton and make some progress with his career at Palace. He seems to be making a good fist of it with The Clowns.

The thing is if you go on loan to a League 1 or 2 club the very least that is expected of you is to shine and make a real impression. If don't you can be pretty sure that's your hopes of a career playing in the PL over . Even then there will be those who shake their head and shrug their shoulders and say, well it's only League 1.

Anyway, he seems to doing all he can.

We look absolutely blunt, predictable and lacking in quality and intensity in the final third. I've a similar view to that expressed by one or two others that we'll almost certainly get relegated if this doesn't improve.

(Assuming we're allowed ?) I don't think there's much to lose from bringing him back from loan to give us another option at the business end of the game.

Did you watch the Chelsea match at the weekend. £0.5BILLION spent in past year but still could not hit a cows axse with a Banjo !

Primarily because they have strikers who score about as often as ours.

He’s always looked out of his depth in previous cameos for us, but that’s not to say he hasn’t improved. Next season at the earliest I should imagine for his next Palace outing.

I remember people questioning whether a certain striker's goalscoring feats for Celtic in the Scottish Premiership would translate to the English Prem once we'd signed him. Some put that league on a par with League 1, or the Championship at best.

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)

We could well be 'Ploughing our furrow' in the Championship next season and if so Rak-Sakyi and some of the other players from the academy might well get more opportunities to impress than if we were in the PL.

He's making good progress.

He's still only 20 so no need to rush before he is ready. IMO he's still got time for a Championship loan next season

Yep, you're right Mr R, he is only 20, but why is that an issue? The papers are full of stories about Kane who has just beaten Greaves' goal scoring record at Spurs. He scored his first for them when he was 18.

I know the arguments for giving Rak-Sakyi more experience at a lower level, but personally, I would like to see him given more game time at Palace right now.

I guess we have to bow to the knowledge and experience of our coaching staff to do what's best for him and the club.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.
