Not quite posh, when you live in 'the borders'. Like Estate Agents listing houses in Dulwich 'borders', when they actually mean Streatham, Brixton or Peckham.
I disengage, I turn the page. |

May explain a lot for anybody familiar with my posts I would add 'should've gone to Specsavers' however I did and even they charged me over £200 for lenses alone! Doesn't help that I rarely wear them too
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

My dad used to tell me about my mum telling people where we were from when I was a kid, coming from Bromley, if they were from London she’d say we were too, but if they were a better class of person from somewhere quite nice, she’d say we were from Kent. If someone knew the area, she’d say we were near Bickley, when we wasn’t , it was Bromley North, and she’d make a point of saying my dads shop was in Chislehurst

I actually posted about Dirty Downham earlier, and you’re right, it was pretty grim round there in my youth, but there’s parts of our current town are much the same. I won’t say where just incase you have family or friends there Edited by monkey (29 Nov 2022 1.08pm)

'Twas rough then, was before and I am led to believe now. A lot of my mates went to Bonus Pastor there too. Since then I have lived in the following areas: New Cross, Bermondsey, Brockley, Hither Green, Wandsworth (or Putney in keeping with this thread), Burnt Oak (Brent), Islington and finally Eltham before moving to our town. Suffice to say you'd be better off just stating 'Kent' than our moniker when asked where you are from but is has not a patch on any of the aforementioned in terms of any parameter - life expectancy, risk of violence, risk of burglary, gangs, knives, guns etc etc! To be quite honest anywhere I would have ended up that you had to sincerely google to find reports of a 'murder' was very much 'posh' in my books Edited by Nicholas91 (29 Nov 2022 1.37pm) Edited by Nicholas91 (29 Nov 2022 1.38pm)
