I’d rather Peter Taylor or Trevor Francis in charge than Southgate. Decent bloke. Utter beige as a manager.

If they played for fun it would be a start instead of straight jackets.

Maguire out.

Even the BBC is saying he shouldn't be picked, what is Southgate up to or has Harry got the negatives.

Was amused to see this morning that the BBC who refer to Wilf as an ex-Man United star call Maguire a "former Leicester player".

From a tactical perspective, that display was absolutely clueless. It may have been entertaining for neutrals - and I was entertained. Mainly I was amused and burst out laughing at some of the football. What are the positives? We'll, it looked like if the players ignored Southgate, then England can score.
What are the negatives? Where does anyone start?

Sunday League goalkeeper (more than one) - how did that happen?

Defensive set up, but can't defend at all. The simplest run, pass or shot can cause mayhem.

Set up for set pieces, yet cannot time or deliver them most of the time.

Allowing players to get bullied, nowhere near physical enough. Look at the treatment Bellingham (the best player) received. Ze Germans were fouling like hell. What was England's response? Non existent - taking the moral high ground, I presume. Why? Who knows - this is football, not soc and pol.

Counter attacking against a poor side - at home. How would you win exactly? The win was never on due to that.

Only Harry Kane up front. Only Harry Kane in midfield. Only Harry Kane in defence. Anyone else getting fed up with Kane being everywhere except in the box?

And why? We have Kane, good in the air, good finished. Yet we play over the top to Sterling - who never once passes or crosses, and, in fact, never has for his whole career. Wondering why? Perhaps Southgate thinks Sterling is a better role model than Kane? He's that much of a cliché I wouldn't actually be surprised.

f***ing hell, the posters saying Dowie or Warnock are correct. They would be better. Honestly - have a FM 23 competition. Whoever wins the World Cup with England first can manage the team. A child can see better tactics than what was on display last night. If Germany weren't such a joke, it would have been 0-5. It would have done us all a favour. Bye, bye Gareth. Only a couple of months of this hell to watch anyway. It'll all be over soon enough with a the usual shenanigans. No one's seen this coming.

What makes it worse for me is that he's now run out of time to try anything new. To take the brakes off and see what happens.

So does he still start Maguire if he doesn't play another game for United? He probably has to now.

What it Trent bags 10 assists in the next couple of months, will he be on the plane/get in the team. No, because its too big of a risk.

Will he take Toney? No, not going to give someone a first cap in a world cup.

So what has Gareth learnt from the Germany game, not anything positive that's for sure

We were being rather tongue in cheek...

I realise, but in this case it's funny because it's comical, yet correct.

Predictions.
We will leave our most exciting players at home.
Southgate will be manager.
We will scrape through our group then get knocked out.
No one will be surprised.
Nothing will change.
Kane will score a penalty!

I only disagree with one, we will not get through our group

Maybe our plan is to lure all of our opposition into a false sense of security ?

Except we've tried that one before - many times - and it didn't work.

Just from memory, no facts to back it up: aren't England always excellent before tournaments - sweeping aside most opposition, then rubbish in the tournament proper?
This time England are pure shyte going into a tournament. A cunning plan.

Hey I've managed to find a silver lining!!!!

GS is now so universally regarded as hopeless, it's now certain he won't get a role at Selhurst.

Just not possible .... it's not is it?

I have now sufficient funds to last me the rest of my life. Provided I don't buy anything.
