WE may flirt with relegation for a while but we will in true Palace fashion rally and finish mid table.

Probably finish somewhere between 16th and 18th. If everyone stays fit it could be higher, but that’s a big if. First 11 can look good but the squad is full of players who are old and/or injury prone.

I think there is every chance that the board may be having to splash the cash in January to survive and will rue the fact they didn’t invest in the summer.

I think the annoying thing is a £50 million spend on 2-3 players and a quality loan in and we could have been pushing for Europe.

Through my entire 50 years of supporting Palace time, there always seems to be something that stops us, just when things are looking good.

On that note, probably relegation and having to start again.

Somewhere between 16 and 18 reminds me of a mate at school 50 years ago who was asked what he found most attractive in a girl. He said somewhere between the face and the breasts. He was thereafter known as a neck man!

Look at Leicester great squad no business have lost momentum.

It's psychological.

A loan Bats or similar gives everyone a lift.

Letting Kouyate go and loaning out top youngsters on the fringe of the PL are the not the sign of an ambitious club.

The PL is a self serving money making machine, basically standing still and treading water will inevitably lead to the drop. The whole thing is set up so clubs spend. We're there, as are many others, to make up the numbers and make it look like a genuine competition, whereas in reality it's clearly not.
How ambitious can we, and others, be without the spending power of the top four? We can only hope to be as well run as possible within our means, and one thing is certain: standing still and treading water is not an option.

But we have not stood still ,we are now loaning our youngsters out to Championship,Div 1 & 2 sides, likes of Adramola, Banks and Raki Saki to get valuable experience, and come back better when was the last time that happened . We still had Ebowi on the bench and Richards needs time to bed in.We had a rubbish pre season but we are still nowhere near the place wew ere in 2 seasons ago

Adaramola has returned from Coventry as he wasn't getting into their team.
Banks has scored 1 goal in 6 games for Brad C.
Rak-Sakyi has 2 goals in 4 games for Charlton.
Rob Street has been loaned to Shrewsbury.
David Boateng has been loaned to Queen's Park.
Plange has been loaned to RWD Molenbeek.

Keep Wilf fit we’ll be ok. If he gets injured the fun will start.

I believe that well before the end of the season we will be in the 'Excreta'.
We have Newcastle, Man Utd and Brighton in our next 3 matches, how many appoints will we attain from these games ? Possibly 1 point and if so we will have attained a mere 5 pts from the first 8 PL games.

What's the betting Tayo never wanted to be 'sent to Coventry' in the first place.

Plange was next to Ebiowei on the first team bench.

I’m not too worried about relegation although it cannot be disregarded by any means.

What looked like a possible 7-12th place finish is now however looking like a 12-17th place probability.

It will only take a few injuries, bad bits of luck or just a poor patch for our league position and outlook to accelerate south.

Call me cynical, because I am, but I hold no great hopes for much January movement either. Not being able to get into Selhurst park as the season ticket technology inevitably fails once again is not seeming such a bad thing now! : D

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

It does seem that this year, we may not be as comfortable as last season... in the sense that a couple of injuries could ruin us... however, one or two signings can really push us on... it's interesting, I think PV was initially backed and told to work with these signings for two seasons... then upgrade after that.. I mean, did he or we expect to splash that kinda cash each summer? we never have, so why would we now?

We won't go down, but it may not be that fun a season..

A perfect summary to mirror my sentiments! Very much inclined to agree.

And you think keeping Kouyate shows ambition? The bloke seems like a nice chap but an awful football player. He offered little to nothing and Forrest will find that out shortly.
