I for one am glad that we split the squad and gave so many youngsters a chance to play. Would like to see Adamarola and Ebiowei both in the first team squad. Think Ebiowei has a bit more to him than Plange.

We need to move Edouard, Benteke and Ayew on. All on good wages and not up to the Premier League. Ayew a liability today, loses the ball dribbling or passing it poorly, drops his shoulders and shuffles around waiting for someone else to get it back. The game is too fast for Edouard - Scottish Premier League is his standard. Benteke I guess will play this evening - looked alright against Ipswich U23s - again, the right level for him.

Matthews today very poor - cannot kick for toffee, but 4th string so not too worried.

Very lightweight in midfield today, would like to see another tackler in alongside Doucoure.

I'd rather keep Edouard than Ayew... Can't believe we've given him another years contract.

I thought he was a disgrace today and very lucky not to of been sent off.

Yes, i understand your view, both of them can go, Ayew because he is awful, and Edouard before he becomes another Benteke.

Beneteke going will be a plus. Also Ayew.
But Edouard has shown good signs when played in Zaha's position. And we shouldn't be so quick to write people off without giving them a proper chance.

Pointless games, just a money-making exercise from Palace 'fans' in Australia (who like 'Doc Brown' we didn't hear too much from when we were in the Championship).
Why arrange games against LiVARpool and Moan Utd and then take barely a scratch team ?

"Fans" - every Palace fan I've met since moving here have a proper history of being a Palace fan. Everyone one of them has stories of Selhurst, away matches, favourite pubs etc. Let's be honest, Palace are never going to have the kind of fan-base a team like United do, if you support the Palace it's because you have ties to the area, the club or, frustratingly, you're dad decided it for you and there is nothing you can do to change it. "Fans" that now live in Australia are as authentic and worthy of seeing a proper team as any fan that sits in the Holmesdale every other week.

I’m a ‘fan’ in Australia. I certainly was around during the championship days and like Villain says I have ties to South London. This forum was and is still my source of pre match preview, in games comments and the post game review. Even if someone in Aust doesn’t have those ties, Palace has had some inspirational Australian players for the club and there are some who support Palace through those avenues. I went to last nights game having the expense of getting there, it’s not my home city. I’ve only been to Selhurst 3 times in around 15 years, I can’t exactly do so every season, this was as good as it gets for us down here and I enjoyed it.
I do hope most people in South London don’t hold your point of view about ‘fans’ in Australia.

Well said, totally agree with your post. I could have written the same thing as well.

Went to the game at the MCG last night. Thought we were outplayed in the first half; our defense working over time. Probably did well to be only 1-nil at half-time. The last 20 minutes, when the "young guns" came on, it was good. Very quick and prepared take on the opposition and have a "GO!"
The MCG, what a stadium, first time for us and was worth the experience. Those interested in crowd, 76,499 attended (499, were probably the Palace supporters, we appeared to be out numbered).
Great night out none the less.

Having seen all the games on this Palace TV thingy I am really looking forward to the Montpelier game & the prospect of seeing a team combined from the 2 sets of players -

Me too but bizarre that we will only have 1 game as a combined unit

Glad you enjoyed it and had the opportunity to watch Palace, albeit a weakened team. I most certainly do not share the views expressed above. My best friend moved to WA a few years ago, during the 70s we travelled all over together watching Palace, Halifax, Bury, Chesterfield to name a few. I know he will be there on Friday.

I went to the match and thoroughly enjoyed it. To be honest it could have been put on by the United marketing team from the light show to the ref. We found our way down to the Palace lot and they seemed to be out singing the United fans despite being outnumbered about 20 to 1 especially when the kids came on and made a game of it. If any youngster came away from that a converted Palace fan it will be due to the kids or the fans.
