This is a player who has never been proven at Prem level and really hadn't done much before coming to Palace his record before wasnt anything special I expect to see the club give him another year deal because of his age/will be cheap. Played for a leading champ team (eze, olise) and came through the England academy. For £1m. A decent summer and at worst he will be a good squad player. Otherwise if the medical prognosis is poor time to cut the cord.

I believe he has played something like one short twenty minute? spell for us as a sub, coming on against THFC. He has barely been available for selection outside of this and has virtually been injured and unavailable for the entire three years of his contract. He breaks down again every time he comes back from injury within a matter of weeks/days. He has missed too much time at what would’ve been the most important period of his development. I don’t believe we should waste any more time or money on him (provided we are playing in the Premier League next season). Edited by Phil’s Barber (07 Apr 2023 11.22am)

I'm sorry but get rid. I suspect he will play non-league or perhaps League two at a push. I wish him all the best but it's pointless for us as a club and a business.

Seems a shame to waste all the invested time and costs by just cutting him free - presumably there are med specialists who can provide an independent assessment of his conditioning? Worth one more year on a basic u-21 salary with game time bonuses perhaps? Clearly he has the requisite skills to be a squad player, maybe even a starter if he can remain injury free and build resilience over the summer. We need decent full backs as well!!

Yes we need full backs but he’s not one. At the moment he’s not a footballer. He can’t meet the basics of the job description ie kicks ball in a competitive environment.

Very sadly not fit for purpose, if he can not get fit and injury free in 3 years it’s never going to happen. Got to face the harsh truth, take the insurance payout and move on

Got to face the harsh truth, take the insurance payout and move on I'm sure we'll see in the off season another young player or two with his characteristics. But he's still young and still has time to overcome his injuries. But we shouldn't give up on him. Hopefully in the off season, he'll work to comeback stronger and fitter?

It's not like we are talking about persevering with a player we know would be worth the wait. We have no idea whatsoever if he's good enough for premier league football. Not only do we have to hope he can suddenly get fit and stay fit, we've then got to hope he can not only play at the highest level having only ever played championship football, but also that he will improve the squad.

Feel sorry for him, but we need to move on. Good luck to him though.

Feel sorry for him, but we need to move on. Good luck to him though. For those who have not seen Caleb Kporha play, he is worth the price of admission. Of all the academy players, I personally rate him near, if not at, the top in terms of future potential. Four goals for our 18s as a right back. Two starts with our 21s, thrown straight into the league's competitive fire - against Citeh/Scousers. The only caveat: He went down injured about a month ago against the Spurs U18, after scoring earlier in the match, with no further information. In the interim, England U-17s, filled the RB spot with 3 off-position (LB, CB - 2 from chelsea and 1 from Everton) in the 3 u17 Euro qualifier matches. He is ONLY 16!!!, so, obviously not ready for prime time, but neither is Nathan. I would much like to see the time, money and effort poured into Caleb's right back development far more so than Nathan's. He's the first goal in the most recent GOTM montage video.
