I'm astonished by that figure, even with the question mark after it. If it's even half true, it sounds as if an investigation by the Competition and Markets Authority is urgently needed.

I suppose I should have realised that you were referring to clubs with American shareholders as well as those which are wholly owned by Americans. Nevertheless a bit of an eye opener, and, as you suggested, not a welcome development. It's all a far cry from when Bob Lord - owner of a chain of local butchers' shops - was Chairman of Burnley in the early sixties, when they were one of the top clubs in the country.

The future: Good evening and welcome to Saturday Night Premier League Soccer with Gary Lineker. This is the first game of the season and after the summer drafts fans were all excited how their teams would do. Our first game is Manchester Asia at home to Arsenal DC over to our commentor at the Singapore Theatre of Dream. ad nauseam.

We could have rejected the American money and now be playing in the Championship or League One. I doubt CPFC2010 could of achieved what they did, when they took over in todays landscape. They've kept us going which is much appreciated, and Parish has steered the ship brilliantly. But I am not convinced about our current American shareholders. Harris and Blitzer were trying for Chelsea bur weren't rich enough. Now they are looking at Liverpool.

CFC came onto the market quite suddenly, getting that kind of asset evaluated & preparing a bid that was to find favour with all of the stakeholders in the sellers group (ticking all boxes) in such a short time would probably have been quite a challenge - for sure its not just a case of saying, OK my bid is £x billion - For the groups that were interested in buying CFC but didn't succeed it would be my thinking that they would have used the experience as a learning curve in the knowledge that other clubs will be coming up for sale in the future - and so it has appeared with noises of both Liverpool & Man Utd being for sale (to various degrees) There will be other second tier clubs (for want of a better expression) where their value has increased with investment & on field success (ourselves included) where at the moment its a tad up in the air as to where our owners ( & their investments) want to take us, are they happy with mid table in the knowledge that to try for top 8 is a bigger investment than they are comfortable with, all the time we have a 25,000 seater stadium that may be a limiting factor, although Bournemouth & their shoe box going for this alleged 100 million is certainly an interesting line in the sand- Quite honestly, at the moment there are loads of clubs who would want to be in our shoes, I feel that there has never been a better time to be a Palace fan, I do hope it continues & I remain more emotionally invested than ever ( + a season ticket obvs) to see where it takes us.

This piece says he's completed his takeover of OL (800Eu) & that the collaboration between OL, Molenbeek & Botofago will benefit these teams, but, 'we wont forget CPFC . . . See what you make of this . . . [Link]
This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |

It would be nice to buy a few players but I wouldn't be comfortable being Newcastle. That's as fake as Man City or PSG. Palace are never likely to be that anyway: just never quite happens for us.
