I hope you are not questioning Nadine Dorries integrity Wisbech

Her comments yesterday were some of the most ridiculous I have ever heard from an MP and, hopefully, will see her consigned, in the fullness of time, to a dark corner of the back benches.

Of the many stupid things he has done, this was probably the most stupid. Those MPs were acting in the way MPs are supposed to act. They were using their judgement to decide what was in the country's best interest, risking their political future in the process. In short, they were behaving with the integrity so bereft of Johnson. It was then that his total lack of decency and fitness for office was laid bare. Instead of trying to find ways to heal divisions, he widened them and laid down the path that led to today.

It was also naïve. If you genuinely believe that kicking those out with any variant in opinion will make your position safer you must be mad. They're politicians! Look what happened to Thatcher.

Its amazing how long the shadow of Brexit remains (no pun intended). Two days ago I would have jumped for joy at the thought of Johnson going but when it became clear that Hunt was seen as the man in waiting, I had to hope that Johnson somehow clung on because Hunt is an utter Remain Retard.

Beginning to suspect the divisions of Brexit are now so engrained in us all that there is simply no way back to any kind of unity. Ultimately, it will lead to English nationalism destroying the Union and then we are into unchartered waters.

The Remain side are still intent on getting us back into the EU, by hook or by crook, and the Brexit side will have to essentially promote an England first policy to prevent that. Suspect that the next Government will be essentially dependent on SNP votes and that is going to rip the UK in half.

Dark days ahead.

You can always rely on Mat to tell it like it is, and how it might pan out. Not pleasant reading a lot of the time But he's generally there, or there-about's.

I disengage, I turn the page.

I don't value May's political opinions but she was less of a liar than Johnson.

Praise indeed

The choice between Hunt and Starmer is too much even for our electorate. It's like a choice of which ball you want crushed between two bricks.

Welcome to the British political jamboree.

I thought them erudite and rational compared to her usual outpourings...

Those MPs were elected in the Mrs May GE after the referendum and they agreed to support Brexit which was the main plank of the manifesto . Once elected they did everything in their power to prevent it.

There was nothing noble about that lying to the electorate and at the Johnson GE none of them survived because the public saw them for what they were. Liars.

The only ones I had sympathy for were the tiny handful around Ken Clarke who was openly a Remainer and told his voters that before the election. At least the public knew what they were voting for then.

Simply wrong. The arguments at the time were about the "deal" and the style of the proposed "Brexit". Those MPs disagreed with the direction being taken and said so, even though they knew what the consequences were likely to be. All were "openly" Remainers. None pretended otherwise. That doesn't mean they were blind to the vote taken by Parliament, but nor does it mean they should not voice their concerns or vote their conscience. They showed the integrity we expect of our MPS, who are not sheep to be driven into the lobbies by the whips.

The major liar involved in this fiasco was Johnson. He had no personal commitment to Brexit, and saw it as his opportunity to grab power. He said he had an "oven ready" deal that would protect our trade and be agreed within days. All lies. He lied to get signatures onto the final draft of a screwed up agreement, which is now threatening peace and security in Northern Ireland and the beginning of a potential break-up of the United Kingdom.

History will not be kind to Johnson. The west has suffered two disastrous leaders in recent years, causing divisions to widen and become raw. MPs with some integrity at least offer some hope.

I think he is learning!

The only thing one should learn from your posts is that you are a Remainer, a globalist and happy to see your culture and heritage erased while you sit on the fringes in parochial Cornwall.

You are a Turkey voting for Christmas knowing that you will probably be dead before the butcher gets to you.

He can defend himself (and does so, at length) but these words are pretty much how us Remainers saw the Brexit vote. No evidence yet to show we were wrong, but it's early days...

While your disdain for certain posters is clear, if you can fall marginally short of essentially looking to the death of our more elderly members (or making frequent references to senility) that would be a good way forward. You've marked so many demographics off your bingo card that even within ones you claim to favour there is eventual hatred there anyway (on age grounds here). Are or did you talk about your own elderly parents this way?

I haven't seen any sky falling yet. What I have seen is a new sense of National pride and independence.

The woes of the World have been created by globalists, not Brexit.
