It was Europe you quoted. Your WHO data were 4 months more dated than the Statista data by the way. Now, the claim from the Government has always been we way outperformed our peers. So I loaded the full data set from the WHO. Rate per 100,000 population for the two years of 2020 and 2021. We are 139 out of 194 countries worldwide. I shall repeat that, we are in the 72nd percentile. Now, of the large and wealthy European countries our rate was the same as that of Spain and marginally better than Germany, which has an average age of 51.06 compared to 46.96 in the UK. Germany's normal mortality rate is 11.17 deaths, the UK's 9.33. We also had fewer deaths than Italy, which as you will remember went into a healthcare meltdown. The European countries that had fewer excess deaths per 100,000 population than the UK were, in order: Norway It absolutely boils my p*ss when BoJo raves about what a great job we did with the virus and vaccinations, something he seems to be hanging his hat on for his political survival. We didn't, we did pretty meh. We have fewer people fully vaccinated than the following European countries: Norway The good news is we are slightly better than Bangladesh. I strongly recommend you either stop reading the Daily Mail or try to complement that with something informative. You could also try digging into the Mail's data sources as I did. Edited by Mapletree (06 May 2022 3.57pm) Pure spin. Who would I rather believe?
Not at all suspicious. I hope he will take his own advice and resign if found guilty. On the other hand, I hope he doesn't. He will guarantee another romping Tory win in 2024.

"The BBC calculates that based on these results, if the whole country had been voting - Labour would have 35% of the vote, Conservative 30%, Lib Dems 19% and others 16%" Bit of a shake up then. but it much would depend on where geoegrapihcally they votes fall ina GE. Level pegging between CON and LAB in odds to win next election. I think that tells us more people how disappointed many are with the current government, rather than they're at all impressed with Labour though. The next few years are bound to be dire economically, so it's a better time to be the opposition than lumbered with it really. Whether that factors into when the next GE takes place reamins to be seen.

A Labour win is highly unlikely, but a reduced majority is inevitable. The cycle of politics.

The cycle of politics. Yes, there's likely something to that. Not much motivation to zone for the status quo. Will have to see what happens between now and election really, rather than read too much into this.

THIS election is particularly STRONGLY linked to Central Government DUE to its DIVISIVE nature and lies and half-truths.

For example Mr Johnson will also hail the UK's economic performance, saying that the "overriding reason" why the UK has been able to "maintain the most open economy and society of any major European economy" is due to its vaccine rollout.

You should be a politician, you sure know how to 'spin' something to suit your own narrative, btw, population density has NOTHING to do with LOCAL elections, which incase you have forgotten, is this threads topic.
This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |

Vulnerable people will tend to vote labour. Surviving elderly people mainly vote Tory. Many Tory voters will have wanted freedom back. Starmer didn’t. He wanted more of anything Johnson did. The Tories know they’ll have the advantage in this area. Few know what Starmer stands for, including his vote vote. Governments certainly lose elections rather than opposition winning them, but you have to be a decent opposition. They’re both sh1te btw.
