i would say i have read most of the bible and there is questions about the storys but , its what you take from it that matters , as with all relegions the problem is the exstreme religous factions of all faiths twist it to there own means , I look for good not bad , trust me im no angel , but i care for my fellow man or woman , ive done lots of work for the church (raising money for repairs)not so much now , but i still turn to god when things are bad but do this in private , so yes i believe will always because theres to many good things to take from it

In the northern hemisphere anyway, it's very pleasant to have a festival to celebrate new life and colour i.e. Spring and a few days off to spend it with family and friends. Throw in a bit of sunshine and a certain football match and you have a winner. Happy Easter everyone!

What Darwin discovered was so extremely profound that, in many ways, he didn't want to believe it himself and refused to publish it for a long time, knowing the impact it would have on conventional religious belief. Dawkins has expanded Darwin's work and is an interesting read, although his style can be difficult, tedious and annoying. Something no doubt many will think I share too!

Years ago, I had a thought that seemed to make sense of the Jesus story. What if he was actually an alien? Arriving in a spacecraft, which would appear to be a star to the people then, descending from it, and being picked up some earth years later. The people could have destroyed his earthly body, but an advance lifeform would just be using that! Walking on water, turning water into wine and creating loaves and fishes out of nothing would be no problem for a super evolved lifeform, billions of years ahead of us. Having never heard such a theory proposed elsewhere, I thought I might be on to something new. Not a bit of it. It's old hat, with even a religion based on it. It's called the "Aetherius Society".

Indeed, and that's why all the Apostles and Saints are depicted with halos - they were in fact their space helmets.

Im not taking the word of Illiterate peasants with roughly the same IQ as an 8 year old. Besides wasnt Jesus a literal ghost (holy ghost) that flew around until Christians realised they needed something more human & came up with a human/god hybrid in Jesus. Edited by Ouzo Dan (17 Apr 2022 4.03pm)
