News to me and really interesting The below may have some bearing on modern US relations with North Africa The Barbary threat led directly to the United States founding the United States Navy in March 1794. While the United States did secure peace treaties with the Barbary states, it was obliged to pay tribute for protection from attack. The burden was substantial: from 1795, the annual tribute paid to the Regency of Algiers amounted to 20% of United States federal government's annual expenditures. maybe we should all be looking to them for reparation.......

All the snowflakes getting their knickers in a twist over something that isn't even going to happen. It was an educational exercise and there are no plans to change it. But keep on swallowing the media led culture war on "wokeness" - if that keeps you happy!

African genes continue to fare pretty well at the Olympics, they dominate several notable and blue ribbon events... ..In boxing this country has several genetically African boxers who were either born there or whose families only recently moved here.....Giants like I can think of Anthony Joshua, Joy Joyce (half Nigerian), Derek Chisora and I'm sure the light heavyweight Joshua Buatsi is Ghanaian born. I'm sure there are many more. Boxing is up there amongst the highest requirements for fitness and strength in the world. Where is the medical evidence supporting this theory? Because in my view there are excuses...sorry theory and there is reality. Edited by Stirlingsays (24 Mar 2022 10.47am)

A splash in the ocean in terms of money wasted by this Government - let's not pretend people's over-reaction to this stuff is about money. These stories literally get put out to rile people up - I find it mental that it still works so well. I've noticed the annual 'cancelling Easter' commentary has started already, and looking forward to Christmas being 'cancelled' for the 20th year in a row come December.

Must have been a dream.
