Realistically Gallagher was always likely to go back to Chelski in the summer, but if we held onto any hope that he might stay I think Mr Southgate has blown that out of the water. It’ll be interesting to see if Teuchel wants him in his team or more likely on the bench. He may not be given the freedom to get forward at will he has at Palace and won’t get the same game time either. Our only hope is either that they loan him out again or decide to cash in now he’s an England player and offer us a deal with a sell back option. Unfortunately if it’s the latter I suspect he’ll be priced out of our range though.

Here’s something you may not be aware of: England have never conceded a goal, and won every single match, whilst T.Mitchell has been playing in defence, FACT!! That makes his England career as successful as that of the most successful England manager of all time. Big Sam.
Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes) |

His interview after the game was full of pride for himself, Mark and "Ty", and gave thanks to Palace, saying what a good decision it was to join and suggesting it was this that has given him his chance. He seems to have his feet on the ground and loves playing. I get the feeling he wouldn't like the prospect of not being sure of a game, and becoming unnoticed. So I just wonder whether our assumption he will go back is really true. They can insist, of course, but do they want an unhappy player? He seems to genuinely love Palace, and what he wants has to play a part in any decision.
For the avoidance of doubt any comments in response to a previous post are directed to its ideas and not at any, or all, posters personally. |

Even a player as genuine and and as emotionally involved in the game as CG is, I cannot see anything but a return to Chelsea for him. I would love to be proved wrong.

What a transformation inside 2 years for Tyrick, played himself into the Palace team and now an England call up. Made up for him, big Pats first name on the team sheet. I still look at that Man City game where he kept Mahrez and Walker quiet for 90 minutes and there haven’t been many left backs that have done that over the last 3 years!

Well, Conor and Mount did not function together on Wembley, that is a good start. If buddy Guehi can sweet talk Gallagher to stay (loan or even better, sign a contract), maybe, just maybe, can we hope to see the blonde engine regularly at Selhurst Park in the coming seasons?

Although proud of the three of them i cant help thinking how their ambitions will change as full internationals. Im sure Tuchel was watching closely seeing Conor do an impression of Kante and Guehi looking very impressive in a back 3 and with Rudigers future uncertain could be tempted to activate their buy back option.

I don’t think Chelsea have a buy back option. The deal is, if a club offers a price that Palace accept, Chelsea have the right to match it Edited by Spiderman (27 Mar 2022 10.02am)

Another Gerrard/Lampard scenario

This is always the fear when your players hit form. Good thing for Palace is that Tayo Adaramola looks a good prospect too in that position….
