I think the second half performance is being underestimated. If we’d kept going gung ho for a third Wolves may have got in behind for a goal. We also had at least two good chances that should have been simple goals. Could have been 4-0

Great result. Colossal first half. Solid 2nd. Progress very evident. Well done PV and the boys.

I am a big Mateta fan.

He is young, has a long contract with us, big, quite mobile can only improve.

I like a proper CF.

Me too. I like how mobile he is, will only improve and apparently puts in a lot of work in training especially on his first touch. Has potential to be a very good player

Me too big Mateta fan.. that’s three in a row.. he will improve and always gives it a good go... I very much doubt that Tekkers would have got that goal today...

I, like others, have been a Mateta critic. For me, when he was first here he was much too casual, lightweight and seemed to give the impression he only had to float around to be effective. He just wasn't good enough to be that kind of player.

But recently he has been hard working, observant to possible opportunities to run at goal and been basically a nuisance to defenders. His goal exemplified that.

Good to go from our worst performance (vs Stoke) to one of our best. Very encouraging speed and movement in the first 20 minutes, took our chances in the first half and we calm and resolute in the second. No mistakes, no goal conceded.

What a performance! Outstanding with and without the ball first half, excellent without it in the second. Everyone stepped up and it will be a genuine disappointment if one or both of Guehi and Mitchell don’t make it to Qatar. The proof of how comfortable it was is that Kouyate was barely noticed. A brilliant response to such a poor display against Stoke

Great win for us today . Wolves were terrible in the first half . in the top half of the table now and above Shighton . Eduoard must be thinking to himself , i must be really s***e if Benteke get on before me when 2-0 up . COYP

Despite playing in a more risky way under PV, our goal difference is now +1.

I'm always dubious at his team selection but the proof is in the eating.

Like others I like the improvement in Mateta. I also agree with Benteke coming on today. Against Stoke he had a good last few minutes after coming on. As for today, you may moan about his offsides but Mateta and Zaha were also getting caught offside today. It’s not easy being onside with a back four pushing out and the forward trying to stay onside as well as trying to see if all the line is level or in front of you and then you need to be looking at the player about to play you in. It’s a thin line between staying onside or not and it favours the defenders if they do their job properly. Benteke gets some agro from us fans but others get caught out as well. As for today great performance in the first half which won us the match and Zaha doing some great defensive work again.

It's a celebratory Theakston's Old Peculier for me tonight, as tradition dictates!
