If this release clause is true, PV has a massive job on his hands to persuade him to stay at a progressive club with ambition, and maybe because of his attentive and serious attitude he will be swayed by the promise he will be adored and cherished by one of the best set of fans in the country.

But I am prepared for him to be another young player chasing the silver dollar.

Edit: or rather his agent.

Even if this is true, how much we get for him will depend on how many of the big clubs go after him. There could be interesting bidding war.

There could be just....a war!

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

Presumably we could negotiate a new contract with him? Get Benteke off the wage bill and give Olise a big pay rise.
If he were to leave I hope it’s not to Arsenal - it was bad enough having them crowing about Ian Wright for years.

said it somewhere else, if he has a release clause then Parish will be trying to give him a massive pay rise to get it removed or increase it to a much higher level

He is still very young and at a great club and with a great manager for his development

Wilf can advise him in two ways

1. Don't go to a big club (ie likely Champions League qualifier) too soon. Lots of pressure for big money to perform immediately

2. Don't get the release clause (if any) taken out of your contract.

Hopefully there a sensible compromise and we'll see a lot more of him for another couple of seasons. Getting to the FA Cup final will also help!

I would be helpful to have the actual facts re any release clause. Otherwise we will just engage in pointless speculation.
I think he will be with us next season, and if he continues to improve unfortunately the bids will come in.
At the moment I'd say Olise is a raw talent with great potential, and next season he'll likely be starting each match. We'll be better able to judge then.

Had it not been for his injury we’d probably be in the same position with Eze.

I do think this may be part of the club's future strategy, that being to buy top talent when they're young and turn them over for a profit. If the clause is true then it perhaps points to the fact Olise saw the move as a stepping stone, with Palace being accepting of that. Not ideal, but if we turned a profit of say 15-20m in business terms the club might be ok with that, providing it's reinvested well. I would also say that if the clause is true then there's no way the predators will wait around before making their move.

Hopefully it proves false though and we keep him for at least another year as he's great to watch.

I don't know how good that Johnson is from Forest, but if he is as good as some say, get in first with a pre contract.

Apparently he has a 35m release clause in his contract, which if true probably means he's off in the summer. That's peanuts for a big club for a player with his potential. The only hope we might have is that he sees us as the best place to gain experience for another season.

I was surprised he had a release clause at Reading being such a young player - his agent must be quite switched on. Not sure of the current release clause is true, but wouldn't surprise me.
Personally can't see him moving for another year as he's only played a handful of games for us.

Can you expand on this bit of information. Like what is the source?

I understand Merson and Morrison confirmed it on Soccer Saturday. Quite how they know the contractual details of our players is anyone guess!
