Anyone that judges any of our strikers under Roy Hodgson knows nothing about football. It’s already proved this season that when you give service you score goals, Benteke is going to score more goals this season than what he has in the previous 4 seasons & that’s all to service & style of play. Totally agree with you Dazza, I also think his hold up play is good as he brings others in the game.. with better service he will score more goals, the last 4 years the service he's been given has been almost non existent..

We had Zaha and Townsend for most of the time, even i know that Zaha if crossing its low along the six yard box if Townsend is crossing he cuts back on to his left foot and crosses high to the far post, Benteke never grasped that and was always out of position, nothing to do with Hodgson, its that Benteke is unable to grasp and positional sense

Whether Benteke makes the right run or is the right position is irrelevant when there are two defenders in position to defend the cross. Benteke did (does) not get the service or the support he needs to be successful. How do you know where to be when Zaha's crossing in general is appalling and you never know with Zaha if he is going to cross or try to beat the defender for the 3rd time. And on the other wing Townsend would always, as you say cut inside and cross to the far post, giving the advantage to the defenders/goal keeper or perhaps not even cross it and go for glory himself. Perhaps Benteke could have done/can do more, but to lay the blame for his poor goal return solely at his door is I think unfair. Football is a team game and as a team we have not played to his strengths.

That i think is the biggest understatement i have heard in ages, many times the ball flash across the six yard spot with Benteke standing on the edge of the box and many of Townsends crosses went unchallenged because he has no anticipation what so ever

Benteke shouldn't be made the scapegoat for the teams poor scoring record under Roy.. he was given little service and no support as the other nine outfield players were generally playing in their own half..

Shouldn't the person crossing the ball look up and try to find our striker? (See...I can do that do)

(See...I can do that do) Many a pundit has said in the past, Benteke doesn’t anticipate the ball being put into the danger area, he just doesn’t have that desire to attack the ball like a proper centre forward, he wants it put on a plate all the time
